I take it you want a specialist in menopause?

Are you certain that what you are observing is menopause and not PMDD which often worsens in the 5-10 years before menopause?

I ask because Thai doctors are nto very experienced in dealing with PMDD

For menopause, Dr. Khunying Kobchitt Limpaphayom at Vichaiyut Hospital   http://www.vichaiyut.co.th/eng/search-doctor/

sheryl.....thank you for your response....really appreciate your time and knowledge, and in fact, you are right on the money. my wife went to a very accredited obgyn  and this doctor   did not seem to address the PMDD....even though i brought this up as an issue because i was well informed from a source in the states....this issue seemed misunderstood and the tests i advised my wife to ask for were never addressed, such as the FHS test. a basic womens exam , pap smear and cancer test was done for 7000 baht. of course im glad the basic  exams were done . i want my wife to follow up with your suggested doctor.

i might also take this opportunity to express what many member of this forum must think, that we are lucky to have you guide us....

FSH test is to test for menopause (and has to be done at the start of the menstrual cycle).

It does not test for PMDD, there is no test for that, the diagnosis is made clinically.  Your wife  -- or you -- should keep a diary of the severity of her symptoms each day and of her menstrual cycle.

The hallmark of PMDD is that (1) there are mood changes and also often a kind of mental "fogginess" (there may be other complains too but this will be prominent) (2) the symptoms occur only in the 2 weeks prior to the start of a menstrual period and are immediately and dramatically relieved when the period arrives.  In some women it is just 1-3 days of symptoms right before the period, in others it can be up to a maximum of 14 days, but al get relief when the period comes and then are back to their normal selves for a while and the symptoms do nto re-occur until they are within 14 days of the next period.

If the problem is due to menopause it will not have this distinctive pattern.
