Came to Phuket on a rush trip and forgot to pack my Lexapro tablets. Tried a couple of Karon Beach pharmacies last night but didn't have any.To save me going through the lucky dip scenario of finding what i want can anyone tell me of a pharmacy that they know for sure sells what i want, That is, 20mg packof Lexapro . Thank you muchly for any help here.

Update..went to maybe 8 different pharmacies and no result. Then one large one in Karon said yes i can get them for you by tomorrow night. Pay now and i will call you when they come. Fair enough, i need them ASAP and as anyone who depends on such meds knows how vital they are [as did the lovely lady in the shop] and how hard to get they are..How much ? i asked ..2800 baht said she....Are you sure, because they only cost 1500 in Bangkok..Oh she says, they must be copies only. I will give you special low price 2700 baht. I told her i would think about this....jumped on the scooter on a whim, headed to SuperCheap  got them there for 1400 baht ....[un]happyas will soon be happyas again.

Unfortunately 'tourist' pharmacies charge very high mark-up. That's the only way they can financially survive. They order by phone from the likes of Santi in Phuket Town (left just before the water cannon roundabout one way in).  Supercheap is always a good bet.

Yes i now understand that, but am quite #*#@% off that in regard to such a potentially life saving drug that she still chose to rip me off near 100%... OK charge what ever you like for lotions and potions, but not for such as i needed.  I really thought that pharmacies would be above such greed. She made such a big deal about dropping the price from 2800 to 2700 as though she was only just covering costs..anyway live and learn,

Unfortunately the thinking is that all Farangs are rich. They can afford to pay any price. Especially if 'the lovely lady' could see you were desperate.

I take quite a few tablets each and every day. I sent my Thai wife to buy a month's worth. If for some reason I have to go they try a high price, I just mention my wife's name and they fold quickly, and unhappy at the perceived loss of profit.

As for pay in advance .... never in Thailand. Maybe a small 10% deposit at most,

Bangkok Hospital is expensive, but the only place I would go to get any medicine around in Phuket. It is a high risk to get copy meds in Thailand.

Just googled it, I have to say I am very pleased that I don't have to take anything like that, seems like an unusual user name you have considering......

Over a year ago, when I had gout, my wife went to a Pharmacy whole sale place in Phuket Town. She called and asked if I wanted one or two boxes of Allopurinol? I asked how much for one? I don’t remember the price now, but it was very reasonable, so get two! She came home and each box was 50 blister packs of 10 tablets! Great, what do I do with 1,000 tablets? Gave some to anyone I knew that ever gets gout! Still have at least 500! Some drugs are only available at the hospital pharmacies as they are controlled substances. I am happy to be off all meds at this point!

Probably the same place you’re talking about LIK!

Yes,you are right about my user name, it's a small, but helpful part of my own self help regime, besides that, saying you can be homicidal, suicidal, angry, sad, bewildered, etc, etc is too much to put as a user name. The "blackdog" is a nasty ,hidden illness for sure. You can well be pleased not to be a sufferer of it.
