The Nong Ya Plong district livestock office in Phetchaburi province has declared the district a temporary epidemic zone for rabies after one dog was found to be infected with the deadly disease.

Mr Isara Lasudta, the district livestock official, said that the male dog, about one year and five months, in Village 4 of Tambon Nong Ya Plong, was found to be infected with rabies on April 11.

The epidemic zone has come into force as of April 11 until May 10.

If they only tested 1 rabid dog for rabies then they have a 100% rabies infection epidemic of tested dogs ! :)

So, what does that mean to pet owners in the temp zone?
