Can the American claim 'Break-Failure' ????

OK, so there was possibly some provocation, but the American significantly over-reacted.

I hope he receives a similar charge/penalty that a Thai would under similar circumstances.

The broken arm was bad luck for the American.

  • Complete idiot, the farang. Lucky he did not crack the skull of the Thai. The Thai should be compensated AND the idiot should be locked up for a few weeks.

" He told the police that he didn't know what he was doing" He's not allowed to say that, that's reserved for Thai's only.   regards worgeordie

Yes, there appears to be some contact (hand on farang's chest) by the Thai just prior to the take-down to the floor.  It would help if the video started at least a few seconds earlier.  Did whomever loaded the video purposefully crop the earlier seconds?  ....because it might have shown some aggressive action by the Thai?

I'm not excusing the American, but am concerned that the full truth of the situation be exposed.

In the video the Surasuk was blocking the American with his arm. The American said something like "Excuse me" why are you blocking me and after a long flight was all het up and had had enough. Judo threw him Putin style to the ground. He's then in a room being interview by 3 hardened Army boys listening to some wet drip Muslim woman talking to them both like naughty school kids.

Absolute Southern fairy nonsense by the authorities. Well done to the American! As for you lot, you've all gone full Thai. What a shock you'd all have on a night out on the p1ss in the Jolly U.K up North that is. You'd be sucking your thumb and shouting for your mummy, wet blankets.

Don't worry, Yank, there are idiots everywhere, in every country, from every nation.

The world is quite full of them and they are strategically placed so you come across at least one of them almost every day.

Really, what happened BEFORE this video?  Why was the Thai idiot pushing his fist into the guys chest?  The Thai guy just didn't have 10 buddies hanging around to join in so it shows the outcome of a one on one.  And the American is no young spring chicken,   I think there is more to this story.

Look at the beginning of the video.  The Thai guy has his card in his hands, the American does not have anything.  The pictures don't lie.

I think the headline of the Article is quite "off-mark",  The American didn't attack the Thai "because his flight was cancelled".  The American was assaulted by the Thai guy who refused to let him pass so it resulted in a self defense take down.  Let's get the news right and hope the Judge can see through the fake news reporting.

Are you American????

There was a whole documentary about the crazy antics at the airport around 2015.

The story about the American taking his stuff is total skcollob (show us the CCTV) but naturally his fellow touts back him up.

Pushy tout pushes too much and gets seriously pushed back by the weary traveler who has had enough.

It's called "the last straw".

American knows the game so confesses, says they are ill (a Thai would use the excuse that they were drunk) and offers compensation.

Greedy Thai sees an opportunity to cash in big time from whitey so demands the "full force of the law".

Out.

Stick to posting videos lad. You make very little sense.

The yank could have a case but where the case ends is his smacking the guys head off the floor. That was not neccessary.

Americans eat drugs like its some snacks, not surprised they can suddenly snap,

LOL> do you think such an assault will only get him 90 days in prison?

Did you notice the video, at 0:10sec mark?..

Thai guy is down and American is in the prime spot to apply a boot to the head.

ill leave it at that. lol

I saw that too. The statement alleged to have been from the American is uncorroborated. I believe there is more to this event. The hotel touts can be aggressive.

if you allow me to be TV detective..

The Thai guy is holding a sign for meeting a tourist, but he admit he goes away to do some other business.

Was it the American whos name is on the board? and he is pis$ed off to be left waiting?

yes, they dont mention this, but it is Thai journalism after all.

i only suggest this to try to make some sense out of it..

why did the American take the Thai touts board ?

it doesnt add up, maybe like you say, more to it

We have all heard the expression, the Ugly American. It has nothing to do about

looks, but about their attitude. There are a lot of the me, me crowd, and this guy

was pissed that his flight was cancelled. He takes out his frustration on the Thai

fellow, then tries to buy his way out of trouble, That is suspicious, which makes me

believe he is not mental, except in immaturity. Jerk deserves what ever he is going

to get in the court.

Geezer

The hotel touts are so aggressive rather deserve a beating with broken bones. Yes. Right.

I have come close to punching one who grabbed my arm and wouldn't stop pestering me and when told no for the 3rd time, became abusive. We only see an excerpt of the event. It's always best to see the entire event.

looks like the thai did put his hand on the guys chest, and stand in front of him. the American did not appear to hit the thai, he just threw him to the ground.

On Tuesday the American tried to buy his way out of the rap by offering full compensation payments to the victim. Surasak said no, and wants him prosecuted to the full extent of the law for what he did.

Clever, waiting for a better offer.

Gives new meaning to the term "ugly american", and I say that as a Yank. Wow. What a buffoon. Never attack a Thai. For any reason. It is dumb and dumber. Hope this creep gets punished, and apologizes to this guy, who was only doing his job.

Talk about the polar opposite of "water off a ducks back". He could use some therapy, meditation, or medication.

And it appears the "broken arm" (if broken, because you can't believe everything you read) happened due the Thai guy falling heavily onto his own arm. Not due to a blow inflicted by the American guy (which is what you might think from reading the article).

Like others have said, CCTV clips from other cameras showing what happened before the attack should be released.
