I see there are many properties to rent in Chaing Rai, i am thinking about staying somewhere for a couple weeks whilst looking for a permanent place.

I have lived in Thailand for over 5yrs.

Any suggestions, or recomendations?

Why anybody should use a guest house, when they stay longterm or permanent? 
This would make absolut no sense at all.

I was responding to what OP wrote as I understand his post, so what would your advice be instead of your cretinism.
