BREAKING NEWS Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte Arrested on International Warrant
It was all for nothing. The drug business is back to normal, as robust as ever. No one in the world ever succeeded in wiping out the drug trade. It's impossible. He made lots of enemies and they are coming after him. -

Rice field Mansion Building - Does it make you uncomfortable
About 30 to 40 years ago I was always surprised seeing massive flashy houses built a few meters back from the main road on the way to Phuket Airport. I mean, who the hell builds those mansions off a main road with all the noise and dust it brings. I didn’t understand in those days that you had to show off your money in Thailand and not hide it away as we in the west usually do. Anyone living on Phuket in those days would have wondered as I did. -

Could Trump's plan fail in a spectacular fashion?
Really, you fail to understand how making products of other countries much more expensive will make US products more attractive, increase sales of US made products and thereb creates US jobs and saves US jobs? While taking away money from the table of countries that have been taking advantage of the US like Canada? That is odd. It seems a fairly ordinary concept to grasp. After all most countries use tariffs, have done so long before Trump and will do so long after him. Well, given that Canada has a budget deficit of 60 billion US Dollars with the US, who do you think will have the bigger lever in applyíng tarriffs? Three guesses. Starts with U and ends with A. Sure, some products will disappear, others will become more expensive. Good! People will have to buy American made products instead. More jobs for Americans. Investment in infrastructure is required? Good! More jobs for Americans! All this winning will get tiresome. Trump is right. And you, like all other posters on here, even omitted one crucial aspect of tariffs; large foreign corporations have and will continue to try to evade the tariffs by producing in the US. More jobs for Americans. More winning. The fortunes that subsidiaries of foreign companies in the US will spend on tariffs will go straight into the tax coffers of the US. It will not reduce the pot, it will increase it. Yet more winning. Trump is already winning, and he is only a few weeks in. Truly impressive. -

Thailand Joins BRICS, Strengthening Economic and Global Alliances
I have a feeling that Thailand’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Maris Sangiampongsa, does not know what he is talking about. The way I understand it, BRICS is about using currencies other than the United States dollar (USD) for international trading between member countries of BRICS if the seller and buyer agree on the currency to use, nothing more. It has to do absolutely nothing with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Incidentally, the choice to use a currency other than USD has always existed, long before the advent of BRICS. -

British Couple's Thailand Dream Becomes Legal Nightmare
Yes, you are completely disconnected from reality. There are 2 criminal court cases here, the first one as plaintiffs, the second one as defendants. There will be some civil cases for damages as well, so up to 4 court cases. 9 years ago I spent a lot more than that, and I got a good deal. Good lawyers will charge more than 100k for each court case. They already lost their first payment as the lawyer did nothing. -

Marco Rubio Demands Apology from Zelensky After Heated Oval Office Clash
Now you're back pedalling furiously. 😏 The attacks have happened, you saw the proof. Three years ago the very idea of Ukrainian bombs hitting the Russian capital city would have been unthinkable. Even as they started getting US weapons the Ukrainians were warned not to attack inside Russia, for damn good reasons too. The ban didn't apply just to missiles. Rapid escalation to nuclear war was possible if the provocation was high. And they refrained from that, even as they proved their drone strike capabilities elsewhere. Read what I wrote about the forecasters new warning after Trumps hooliganism in the Oval Office. You're now making weak attempts at excluding drones from the ban, FFS. Incidentally, Ukraine doesn't need US drones. Ukraine itself is manufacturing over 95% of it's drones domestically: Ukrainian drones made up over 96% of UAVs military used in 2024 https://kyivindependent.com/ukrainian-drones-made-up-over-96-of-uavs-military-used-in-2024-defense-minister-says/ Trump has let them off the leash by his stupidity. The restrictions have evaporated. As was forecast. That's a whole other issue. Hitting back at Moscow reminds Putin and the previously insulated Muscovites that the war can come home to them too. That'll be good for negotiations. A reality check.
