Has Thailand changed since the last coup ?

Featured Replies

This is for the people who live in Thailand since many years

Have you noticed any changes since the last coup, positive or negative ?

If yes, what are they ?

I don't live there so don't really know

Regards

Fred

There are no more of those election posters cluttering up the place.

Before the coup 50% of the populace owned a smart phone, now everybody has one. Long term foreighners are less welcome than before the coup. Prices are up 30 %, the quality of service has declined 60%.
Other than that, nothing has changed. All is well.
Cheers.

What is the source of those figures? An overactive imagination?

Personal observations over the years. If I crave for "overactive imagination" I prefer to consult official Thai-Statistics.
Cheers.

Thanks. Maybe better if I share future observations with some sort of "disclaimer", like:

"I only made this up to fit my own agenda". Just to be on the safe side.

Cheers.

I put on an extra kilo since the coup. So i would most definitely say the impact has been negative

Positive surely?

Personally, apart from the general upwards trend of prices things are pretty much same, same.

"Although I only made this up to fit my own agenda" (see Swissie's post above )I do not believe that things are pretty much the same, same.

Not in my neck of the woods, anyway.

If it weren't for the media, you wouldn't know there was a coup.

I came to Thailand in September, 2014.

I asked about 20 Thai people what has changed since the coup.

 Out of the 20, I got 20 "nothings" and 19 people said,"What coup ?"

A coup has been normal Thai life since 1932.

Everything is still crazy in The LOS.
