The new rule has been drafted, good !....Now everybody would just need to agree in which year it will be implemented.

 

And it may be a bit hard to convince locals not to take advantage of tourists, in a country that has openly been using dual pricing for decades.

No longer an issue in Pattaya; unless you can prove differently. Scamming was stopped about 3 years ago. Sorry to introduce facts to your story.

When I go out with my favorite quote on TV, she who must be obeyed, I ask how much to ride. When they say 50 baht I ask for both. When they say no each, I say ok.. but 2 bikes then, one for each..probably didn't matter, but makes me feel better..

Had to use bike taxi to hospital because of car problems. 

Wife had a kidney infection and doubled with pain.

 

Siam country club to the hospital. 

Bike for one 80 baht.

Two passengers x2 =160 baht.

I have not seen any willing to go anywhere for 50 for 2. I always suggest a price and say for 2.

If there are two people, then you take two motorcycles.

You don't then pay 100 baht for two people on one motorcycle.

If they suggest you both go on one motorcycle, they'd better be offering you a substantial discount for your discomfort. Say 75 baht for two.

If one is so ridiculous as to allow them to get away with that scam, it's time for a refresher at the School of Common Sense.

 

Laugh gently at their attempted scam and either suggest your modified offer or insist on two bikes.
