Customers and staff ran in all directions yesterday afternoon as a pipe burst during heavy rain in the area above a ceiling at an MK store in Sri Racha.

A customer took a phone video of the aftermath as rainwater gushed in at the restaurant on the third floor of the shopping center in Sri Racha, Chonburi.

Pikunthong Phankhangniaw, 29, a staff member from Ubon told Pattaya News that there was heavy rain outside when she heard a loud noise.

Then the water started gushing into the restaurant causing staff and customers to flee out of the store, she said.

Pattaya news added that engineers were on the scene yesterday evening making repairs to some large pipes.

Stupid to run inside, even when the lights went off. You never know if electricity is on or off, anyway you notice soon enough.

In the video someone says about turning off the breaker...but it probably triped out itself and light went out.

Some Thai companies will go to any lengths to publicise themselves.  It's as mad as hiring a man-with-a-van to tour round holding up traffic whilst blaring indecipherable messages by loud speakers that nobody hears because no one walks anywhere.

It was just water this time , it could have been worse.

Plenty of people walk a lot of the time in Thailand. Perhaps you are thinking of the USA.  The messages are not indecipherable to the majority of people

Sorry I must disagree with you.  In fourteen years I note very few Thais walking except from parking spot to shop.  The messages are indecipherable because of the quality of speakers.  You are surely not defending this polluting archaic method of advertising are you?  How many customers do you think this effort pulls in during the course of a day?
