Sophon reported that there was great news for Pattaya at the weekend when the image of the resort received a boost with the returning of a wallet.

A lady called Orawan Bunmark had handed in the wallet to special services officers at Bali Hai port after she found it on the road.

It contained 24,172 baht, 2,300 Yuan, 14,000 Yen, $100, 288 Yuan in "Ang Pao" envelopes and 13 credit cards.

The wallet found its way to Pattaya police station and soon the owner Li Haoran, 27, a Chinese tour guide, was reunited with it.

Mr Li praised the member of the public for their honesty and the actions of the authorities.

It was all smiles as pictures of the thumbs up party were taken at the station.

Sophon said it was great news for the image of the resort.

Yep, this one good deed makes up for the thousands of misdeeds in Pattaya

i have misplaced my wallet with over 100k somewhere,

so in case someone finds it, send it to me

As long as he hires a tour guide to do the tour his is probably safe.  You can violate the golden goose so many times before it stops putting out.  Pretty sure some in the government know when enough is enough already.

Ten- plus credit cards are a big thing in Asia?  I doubt it.

This is a great title.

Probably Thailand is afraid of trade sanctions.

How on earth would 50,000  baht fit into the average sized wallet.?

Is this a made up story ?

If one has small money and little credit, I guess they only need a small wallet.

Mr Li is now happy. Ho Li Clap one lucky chap He should be loosing yer dosh in Pattaya.

These "Save the Day" shelved articles only serve to make these M0nk315 look more foolish. stupid and ridiculous  :coffee1:

Adding insult to injury - they actually believe this Saves Face and the Day :cheesy:

The image not only for Pattaya but for entire Thailand could be significant improved if the police stopped with their 2 price system when it comes to fines….:coffee1:

It states he was a Chinese tour guide.  Nowhere does it say he was working in Thailand.

Tour guides are in restricted occupation list, Thai tour guides only.

So many TV members jump to conclusions.  Very often wrong.

Seriously??

It is extremely rare to comment on ones occupation unless they are here working.

Otherwise, it would just be reported he was a Chinese tourist.

It will take a lot more than that to enhance the reputation of Pattaya

Was it a suitcase he lost or a wallet.
