I might be Blind but I see ordinary Thai people getting poorer and poorer. Look at the wage case. I can't remember what rise the workers got but it was pitiful and the fat cats in Bangkok cried like a baby like you took their milk bottle from them. When he says it will take time for these reforms to go through my question is What reforms? How to buy watches reform? how to launder money in your bank accounts? How to go on overseas junkets and spend all the Thais people you want? Buy mansions the easy way for yourself reform? How to stop people holding meetings about reform? How to stop people expressing their point of view reform How to strangle the media reform? We can only compare a full term elected government from 2001 to 2005 and 4 years and counting junta non elected government. Looking at the policies like OTP, UHC, One Village fund and micro credit which are still implemented by the current non elected junta government. As the saying goes 'copying is the sincerest form of flattery". Then the economic were better then with better GDP and revenues which allow the elected government to pay off the IMF debt prematurely. Global competitive ranking was better, Gini index impressed and the corruption perception index trumped current. I have to say affirmatively, elected government with full accountability has done hell of a lot than incompetent military generals who has zero accountability to the people and can't even accept criticisms and shield their own corruption. 1 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Actually, the writing is on the wall, after four years of Junta power the poor are getting more poor. Nothing more needs to be said, this Junta is doing a fine job on wealth distribution, which when all the <deleted> is left out, was the only reason for the coup. That and the issue of making elections inconsequential. But you are free to believe that they are actually trying to better the nation, there is so much evidence they are not. As to skills, come on, even the most idiotic politician looks like an expert next to the current lot. They are stupid beyond belief. But alas, they actually managed to side step the electorate for the next two decades, the only question remaining is how long they will get away with it. But in the end he is right, changes do take time....but will the changes be the ones expected and desired? Where they ever intended to be what the general public would hope for? Has four years been long enough to generate some of the expected results? Look at what is already accomplished, or not accomplished, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the person asking to become the next elected leader.
