Dose anyone know where I can get a bus or mini bus to poipet from pattaya.

I have read MK tours goes from big c but can't find any up 2 date info on it or a web site for them.

I know I can get the yellow bus form north Pattay Bus station but it don't drop you at the border and I want to go a bit earler.

If you really want to use Poipet, best is to use one of the casino buses. Most of the information available online is in Thai. It is easy to use casino buses for the return journey from Poipet, as they all leave from the same area a couple of hundred meters from where you enter Thailand. One source for travel to Poipet is https://www.casinotouring.com/?q=granddiamondcity-casino-tourbus. You will need to use Google Translate unless your Thai reading is good. They show departures from MK Resort Pattaya at 5:45 am and Lotus South Pattaya at 7:00 am. You could try calling Grand Diamond City Casino in Poipet (where they should speak English) to ask for further details.

Yellow Bus from the North Pattaya Bus station.

(their so-called "VIP" is not really a VIP bus, though.  Expect typical 4-across seating).

Be aware that Aranayaprathet/Poipet is one of the worst border-crossings to use, in terms of attitude and/or possibility of rejected-entry, if you plan to come back with visa-exempt or get a new entry on a Multiple-Entry visa.

I had a walk down there they start at 4 am and go all day but not right at the border but he said 20THB for a tuk-tuk.

250THB just in case anyone reads this Thread in the Future.

Now I just have to work out the best way to get from the border to Seam Reap.

First van leaves at 4 am and then one every 30-50 minutes. Also it may  take 4.5 to 6 hours.

You can take the free shuttle bus to the main bus station to catch a bus into SR, and then take a tuk tuk from SR bus station to your hotel. I think it's $12 for the bus and $2 for the tuk tuk.

Or you can walk straight ahead after exiting immigration and share a taxi. I paid $10 in April. Waited 20 minutes for the taxi to have enough passengers. Taxi took me straight to my hotel, no scams attempted.

Cheapest way from SR to Poipet is by bus. Capital Tour, $3.75.

True, it's 50 Baht, last time I was there, for a tuk-tuk to the border from right where the Yellow-Bus lets you off.  Or maybe moto was 50, and tuk-tuk 70 - it's been awhile.  Well worth it to me not to be crammed in a mini-bus for the long part of the ride.

I got an "exit interview" there once, even though I was clear from the onset I was headed to PP (true).  They basically gave me a sit-down question session as if I was trying to come into Thailand, even though I was leaving - made a big printout of all my entries/exits, etc.

I was told that after I got my next visa, my only option to re-enter Thailand, With a Tourist Visa, was to "fly back" (to be greeted by their "make up a law" buddies at the airport, no doubt).  I ignored this bald-faced lie, returned via another land-border, and was treated to hassle free and smiling-service.

That takes you to a station way outside of town, where you are stuck with 2x to 3x overpriced options at limited times.

The best bus service in Cambodia is Giant Ibis, but I don't find a station for them in Poipet.  I believe it passes through that checkpoint, but may not pick up new passengers there.  When I was last traveling from Poipet, Virak Buntham was the best option, though it's a big step down from Ibis.  They run a bunch of refurbished Korean buses (standard, sleepers, etc).

Note that anyone you talk to (tuk-tuks, etc) will tell you "they are all the same" and try to take you to their buddy's marked-up ticket-sales, to get a commission.  They are lying - some are much worse than others.  To see where the office really is, try putting "Virak Buntham Poipet Bus Station" into google-maps (I get an error if I paste a link).  It would seem they have put an office right at the roundabout immediately after you stamp-in to Cambodia, now, which makes things easier - so just ignore the touts.

I would not trust the website - may not have been updated for years.  I always took overnight buses, so the 8PM could be correct.  I believe they used to have buses to SR on the big board in the main office (down the street a ways), but this could have changed.

There are other bus-options from Poipet to SR, but I do not have a decent experience to relate with the other companies.  Hopefully someone else can advise on this.
