I agree with that entirely. Everyone [police, judges, prosecutors, jury, forensic scientists, lab technicians, warders, etc] involved in the wrong execution of an innocent person shall be put to death. No trials, no appeals allowed. This would ensure that everyone does their job/duty properly.

Not expressing is not the same as not having. Also, I don't quite like the implication in the comment that 'the rightness of an opinion is a function of how many people share it'. Here is why: 4% of all death row inmates in the USA, turn out to be wrongly convicted!

4 out of a 100 inmates, get simply murdered!

No other excuse or explanation!

If you are innocent and you are killed by hanging or lethal injection or whatever, it is murder!

 

4 is way too many!

1 is too many!

 

Now...that is the USA, where I assume there is "relative" justice in place, although racism is still a huge problem in Americas justice-system.

 

Now translate into Thailand!

A police force that is totally corrupt, courts that are totally corrupt, at least 2 sets of law in place (for the haves and the have- nots), at least one law in place, that (although it doesn't warrant the death penalty) is simply based on hearsay and can get you long jail- sentences...what I am saying is: my trust in the justice system of Thailand is exactly ZERO!

 

In a system like this one, the death- penalty is not even anywhere near being "okay"!

 

I think, it is wrong in general...but especially horificly wrong in a country like Thailand.

I'm thinking of the 17-year old kid that was stabbed 24 times in front his girlfriend – a shameful murderer that had already snatched the victim's cellphone, but continued stabbing him – they should rather express sympathy for the victim and the victim's family.

Yes they will. Couple of years ago my dog spent 3 days in the vets due to illness. I asked the vet to put him to sleep as I could not see him suffer and he agreed.

WHY should THAILAND have to keep the scumbag alive in Prison ? He was a Waste of Space, so bring it on, rid the country of others like him and ask the “Bleeding Hearts,” if they’d feel so FORGIVING if the victim had been  their Son or Brother ?

If you knew anything about the crime and trial you would know the family of the murderer constantly claimed their son was a good boy, never a troublesome person. They never once in what I read or heard showed or voiced any remorse regarding their sons actions. So in my opinion which I am free to voice, let the SOB rot in hell. My sympathies lie with the victims parents, friend and families. If it was one of my family who was brutally murders I would have volunteered to pull the switch to start the execution. You probably don’t agree with my opinion so please refrain from commenting on this and starting a dialogue of who’s opinion is right. Opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one but usually they are best kept hidden and private.

AFAIK, there's little to no proof that the death penalty serves as any kind of effective deterrent.

 

On the other hand, even in first world countries, there's plenty of cases where the justice systems end up convicting innocent people wrongly. And once a society has executed someone, it's not like they can go back and fix the mistake that's been made.

 

And not that anyone needs reminding of it, but Thailand isn't even close to being a first world country with a first world justice system. More like kangaroo court time. Dunno about you, but I don't exactly feel comfy entrusting life/death decisions to that kind of a seriously flawed system.

America also bombs for peace and thinks that everyone needs guns to protect themselves from others with guns yet still they have monthly mass killings in schools. Singapore canes youngsters for vandalism or taking drugs. Neither country is an ideal role model.
