Is there a good online resource for learning words in context? For example, today I heard the word ห่าง and looked it up in a couple dictionary apps but didn’t really understand how to use it in context or how it’s different from ไกล. I can always ask a friend to give me some examples or google it but are there any online dictionaries for doing this?

For ห่าง it gives:

 

เกาะลาบวนตั้งอยู่ทางตอนเหนือของเกาะบอร์เนียว และอยู่ห่างจากรัฐซาบาร์เป็นระยะทาง 10 กิโล

 

ราคาสินค้าอุปโภคและบริโภคของแต่ละบริษัทห่างกันมาก

 

and

 

คนที่มีอุดมการณ์ทางการเมือง ถ้าเป็นคนดีต้องห่างคนชั่วเข้าไว้

 

For ไกล it gives:

 

เจ้าเหมียววิ่งหนีเจ้าด่างไปไกล

 

 

From the example above. 

Labuan island is 10 km from Sabah-  there is no meaning of far here, just distance from.

In the second example I would translate ห่าง as different or vary 

The price of consumer goods vary widely/are very different between companies

 

It is only with ไกล here that we get a sense of far as in distance

Meeow ran far away from Dtang.
