Wissanu says election will be 'by May 5'

'All the proposals floated in the forum yesterday would be reported to the NCPO who had the absolute power to make any decision', says Wissanu.

There we have it, folks: ABSOLUTE POWER - in their own words.

And some people still think that this 'election' is going to be free and fair?!!!

What's the point of an election if the junta have reserved seats already. If like that Thailand no need an election and the parties should boycott any election as long junta is still here.If the junta wins the fake elections in February or whenever then they can say"we are the free elected government of Thailand

Wissanu says election in May 2019. PM Prayut says election in February 2019.

Prayut and his team in SNAFU mode as usual.

Deputy PM gives dates for first time.

THE ELECTION is likely to take place some time between February 24 and May 5 next year, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam announced yesterday.

It's called "putting lipstick on a pig". Elsewhere the result remains porcine, here it becomes a second wife.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Notice that it only says 'likely' - not 'DEFINITELY'.

The mocking game (at the Thai people's expense) continues ...

We try our best to believe.

It's much, much easier to believe in UFOs, Bigfoot, and the Loch Ness Monster than to believe anything that splutters forth from the junta's individual or collective (rotten) mouth!

Prayut said election in Feb and Wissanu said maybe May. One of these two is making confusing statement and has to go in line with the rule "on making confusion statement policy" that got former EC Commissioner Somchai fired. To think of it, Prayut should be fired long ago for making too many confusing statement on election date. Wishful thinking but feel good to call him out as a serial liar.

Well observed, Eric. In fact, the junta are 'confusing' the public on a daily basis!

Another day..another meretricious narrative and invented (on the spot) election date.

It reminds me of the fine old Aussie saying "I am/we are getting there"

But nobody could actually pinpoint where "there" actually was at any given time or place?

Think quote is "are we there yet ? "......

On one level that's quite funny.

On the other hand, it is indicative of the junta's approach to freedom of speech, and desire to control every aspect of the political process.

It's indicative of the fact that a lot of porkies were told at the meeting, and they don't want anyone to record them, so at sometime in the future they will deny what was told.

No, they'll stick with the date, but will just change the year now, it's easier.

Ot's a strategy - create a fog of uncertainty then do whatever you want. A characteristic of thei government and beyond that a characteristic of the Thai was of doing things. It's meant to be cunning but it betrays an inability to manage both people and events.

I think Theresa May is a complete disaster but she's way better than this lot. This lot is just a tragedy.

Now what is there after the King's Coronation that might be the next reason for an election delay...hmmm.

A "bomb" going of somewhere and "luckily" not hurting anyone...

A bunch of guns and "grenades" will be found somewhere near the place where a "red-shirt leader" once had a picnic...

7 non- junta- fans stage an "uproar" outside of some government facility in Santa Elsewhere...

Make your pick!

There is a very, very, VERY big sad national event that will serve their ends just perfectly (when the time comes). Forget all politics, then, for a year ...
