All that proves is that they have manners, especially when in the public eye. If you think it means they think the sun shines out of your arse, you are as daft as I thought you were !

Ah well, what can you expect from The Nation, the rag that supported the coup and now wants to pretend it supports the democratic process.

For serious news reporting and editorial you will have to look elsewhere.

I wouldn't wrap fish and chips in the Nation ......would probably spoil the taste.

The hypothetical "vote" is a perfect sham and the editor should recognize this.

That's what I was talking about in my opening remark. What Britain and France say or do is neither here nor there. But the Nation talks about the election as if it is a normal democratic election. It's not anything like it.

It is about economies and relations, not about morality, decency, true honest credibility and being a Saint. Which consequently are all qualities he and his cronies do not have.  Must be difficult to keep patting yourself on the back!

Most politicians and parties currently offering themselves as choices for voters have different degrees of tainted history and questionable backgrounds. They are accused of involvement in corruption scandals, being responsible for violent protest crackdowns, supporting dictatorships or coup-makers, and being linked to dirty political players, among other things

Just about sums up the country in a sentence.

While reading the article, I kept thinking: 'This article has been written by a child.' It's so puerile, so naive, so lacking in intelligent analysis and comment - it must have been written by a little kid, surely?!

Terrible summary. It leaves the really important stuff out.

"Must be difficult to keep patting yourself on the back!"

Not difficult for either this leader or the one on the opposite side of the world. They thrive on self-back-patting.

These two share many traits in current style and their hidden agendas for their future.

Old adage, " you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time". They will both face the people before long. The outcome may prove interesting. Who knows, maybe "back-patting" will become "back-packing".

Back packing and becoming a second class citizen sounds fitting. We are for all intensive purposes considered that here. Unfortunately the only outcome they will listen to is if a civil war erupts. Otherwise the people fall of deaf ears.
