Jillie Norman
How can I help my aunt? Every time my uncle goes home drunk, he becomes violent, hits her or throws things in the window.

It appears from another topic the poster, "Jillie Norman" is coming to Thailand for a holiday in September and is not either in Thailand at present nor living in Thailand. It would therefore be unlikely that her aunt and uncle are living in Thailand but we will have to wait for "Jillie" to get back to us on that and provide further details. Jillie Norman
Thanks for all your response. My aunt is from Miami, we talked a lot and she shared it with me. Though we are far away, I want to help her, for her own sake and the kids. I thought that she needs professional help to guide her. BritManToo
You might want to choose a different site to seek advice, a USA based site would probably give best advice. This is a Thailand based forum, domestic violence is widespread, and none of the locals or police are all that bothered. It's as often the female getting drunk, hitting and throwing, as it is the man. If you call the police here, the most they usually do is offer to escort the 'victim' with their packed bag to the bus station. Jillie Norman
Thank you for all your replies and suggestions. I already let our family friend looked after her so she will be guided on what to do next.
seajae
report him to the police, it is an offence and he will be charged with assault, too many women refuse to do anything and just let themselves become punching bags instead of doing the right thing. She would be better off without him if he cannot change, tell her too either leave him or report him to police, they are the only 2 options she has if she wants it to stop
blackcab
As the OP and the OP's aunt are not in Thailand, this thread is now closed.
