Fire fighters, along with about 10 fire trucks, have been fighting a fire at a furniture warehouse in Wichit today (June 30).

Officers from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) stationed at Wichit Municipality were notified of the fire in a Soi at the back of a SuperCheap Store, near Kajonkiet Pattana School on Chao Fah West Road, at 11.40am today (June 30).

Fire fighters arrived with their fire trucks, the Wichit Police and rescue workers arrived at the scene to find the warehouse well ablaze. As of 1.15 pm this afternoon, the fire was still not under control yet.

This looks like the factory I had a look round last year. I was given a tour around it by the owner , I'd never seen anything like it. It was absolutely packed with wood and furniture on so many floors, each room leading to yet another and full of Burmese workers with their kids.

Huge containers of thinners and varnish too, no wonder it went up like that.

You're right Somtamnication, there was another fire around there in 2014 and according to this article one several years before that.

If it is the same owners I wonder if they were insured this time around.

Fire started at about 10:25. Trucks started arriving shortly after that. Off by an hour, Thaiger!
