jippytum Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 I have internet banking with different banks in Thailand and overseas. Currently i think S.C.B. has the most antiquated user website of any major bank .Local credit card transactions and account debit and credit items take a minimum of four days often longer to appear on website statements. Currently you are only allowed to view previous transactions by selecting each individual month at a time with no overlap for statement continuity. SCB do get some things right apart from the website .Thankfully the SMS notification system to mobile works very well for a small fee .Pity the I.T. guys can't improve and upgrade the website to be more user friendly .
Davedub Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 (edited) I recently opened a business account with them - they wanted to charge me 5000 Baht a year to access online banking. Of course I refused on principle, as I understand that customers using online banking actually saves banks money - so charging extra for it is simply not acceptable. There's no ATM card with the account either, so my only remaining options are to use the branch or to write cheques for any transactions I want to make. It's like using a bank account from last century. I wish I'd signed up with another bank. Edited July 10, 2018 by Davedub 1
Katipo Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Agreed. There site is pretty 'antiquated' and not at all user friendly. There have been slight improvements over the last couple of years, but it's basically been the same for 5+ years. The mobile app on the other hand is much more modern. It seems there is where they are putting their energy.... although why they can't manage both is beyond me. 1
Jeffrey346 Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 I have both SCB and Bangkok Bank and feel SCG is much better. Try checking any charge with BKK Banks to see who the charge is from.. Can't do. SCB shows who is charging your account. Big plus for me.. 2
Crash999 Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Have you tried using the SCB app? I pay bills from it, transfer money, check balances, etc. Never any need to visit the website. 1
4MyEgo Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 I only use the online website to top up my mobile phone, ATM for withdrawals and pay zero annual fees for the account and yearly balance statement for the immigration office when extending my annual stay. I saw no reason why I had to pay them a fee to park my funds in their bank which gives little interest, at first they said cannot do, I said talk to the manager and if he says no, then I will take my money with me right now, smart that bank manager...lol 1
mike324 Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 all my transaction appears right away on my account summary, but it only shows a limited number of transaction before it gets cut off and I have to wait for it to appear on the e-statement, which is silly.
Popular Post Briggsy Posted July 10, 2018 Popular Post Posted July 10, 2018 I use SCB Easy Net. It is a little clunky but it works fine once you know how to navigate around it. I also bank with the TSB in the UK. They just conducted a complete overhaul of their online banking. Did you read about the results? Be careful what you wish for. 2 1 1
mindfulness Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Nope ! You obviously have never had the experience of Bangkok Bank, plus the crappy customer service the bank cashiers and enquiry desk service. Never again 3 strikes and they’re out ! 1
mekko Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 They are all universally terrible, and do all sorts of 90s comical security practices such as disabling right click etc. Bangkok Bank online bangking iMessaging service I thought was quite novel until they told me not to use any special characters - special characters including full stop, comma, exclamation mark, dash, question mark etc.. Makes communication fun. Thai banks make only minimal effort in terms of online bangking, SCB easy net website has been same for nearly 10 years, they love their paper and bureaucracy, and decentralized branch power, in other words pigs will fly before they truely get behind a Thailand 4.0 movement...
blackcab Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 I use SCB Easy Net and mobile app for personal banking, and SCB business net at work. The websites for personal and business banking are really back in the day. They work, but that's about it. The mobile app for personal banking, on the other hand, is fantastic. It's like chalk and cheese. If the online website could catch up with the app they would be streets ahead. 2
ronaldo0 Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Cimb is pretty woeful also. Infact all of the ones I have used are terrible compared to uk systems.
