webfact
Min of Tourism hosts storytelling competition to promote tourist attractions BANGKOK, 18 July 2018 (NNT) - Thailand's Ministry of Tourism and Sports has organized a storytelling contest on new perspectives of Thailand to encourage tourism promotion through digital content. Three separate events are being held from July 2nd to September 30th. They consist of a storytelling contest, for students and the general public, to depict a tourist destination, a contest for businesses and landowners to establish landmarks and a network-building contest for civil servants and public officials. Winners will receive a trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and a cash prize of 200,000 baht. Since the contest was announced, over 300 applicants have submitted up to 155 stories. The ministry believes the contests will help promote lesser-known attractions, generate revenue for local communities and contribute towards a database of tourist destinations. Those interested can apply at www.award.thailandtourismdirectory.go.th until September 30th. -- nnt 2018-07-

Wilsonandson
Can you illustrate your story with colored penciled pictures and cartoons? Also, where do you post your finished story? It's a great idea for a classroom assignment.

nkg
The contest and website are Thai language only. Of course! Thailand want foreigners to learn the Thai language in its entirety. Once they have finished, they can read the Thai stories about tourist destinations. (The web address in the story is wrong, it should be http://award.thailandtourismdirectory.go.th )
BigBadGeordie
If the TuK Tuk drivers around the Grand Palace and Wat Pho enter they would be clear winners. They have been telling the same story for at least 20 years and are expert at it.

worgeordie
Once upon a time,in a country where there is no poverty, where everyone was smiling and very happy, where tourists were made welcome ,even if they had little money, they came to have a good time, and everyone felt safe ,no rip offs, scams,or double pricing, the good government seen to that. In a land of sparking streams, blue seas, and white powder sands, the absence of rubbish and trash was amazing, due to the work of all the population who do everything to make sure their guests are made to feel welcome and safe. Is that the kind of fairy tale they are looking for....I'll take the Macbook pro. regards Worgeordie

Eligius
Thailand knows all about extravagant, fictional story-telling - from top to bottom. For example: there were once two dastardly, evil Burmese men who raped and murdered two British tourists on Koh Tao. But the brilliant island police captured them and were gratefully rewarded by the Leader. And all lived happily ever after (except for the Burmese boys - who are now sitting on death row ...). Ceruhe
Winning story will be the one which can trivialize/shine (any) positivity on road fatalities and world standard of driving excellence.
