There is no reason why Thailand should have to tolerate foreigners working illegally in the country and not paying tax.

Working-illegally - agree - though it would be wise, from an economic perspective, to update the law so as not to affect those who are not competing for jobs in Thailand

But as to "paying tax"?  It's all upside if the income comes from overseas - same as the income spent here by any retired person.  "Income Tax" may not be paid (or might be, if they file here - or might be in the country where the business operates), but VAT taxes are paid on expenditures, and Thais have jobs funded by foreign-sourced incomes.

There are no "benefits" being received by foreigners at Thai-taxpayer expense, so all foreign-sourced income is 100% upside for Thailand.  Thai taxes on incomes pay for things locally-unemployed foreigners don't receive, like discounted health-service.

Probably because so many people in the past obtained ED visas for reasons that have nothing to do with learning anything.   Generally if you find immigrations appearing to "crack down" on so

looks more like your time may be up.  don't think anyone can argue that ED visas were intended for long-term stays....essentially endless...but for studying a year or two....unless you could show you

  • Threads's title is misleading. You're on your 3rd ED visa and cannot show the source of the income that allows you to live in Thailand without working. The fact you can speak good thai is irrelevant i

Why don't you show your bank statements with sufficient funds to backup your lifestyle?

On the chance if you don't have a lot of money to show off then expect more hassle.

Money talks.  No money walks.

Just head back to home country and add to your savings first.

Son is not Thai so that would not be an option AFAIK - and does not appear to be a marriage so status of mother also seems to not be available.

I think ubonjoe answered this already - the answers is yes, once the child is going to school, but they only give the visa to one of the parents.. Not sure of the logic there or who came up with that idea lol

What a load of absolute rubbish. Are you seriously saying that a child born from parents of different heritages doesn't have any ethnicity? And yes, it's called ethnicity, ethics is something completely different.

Since both you and your partner are not Thais , and you do not have any Thai family here, whats the point in trying to live in Thailand any more?

If you want to experience the same climate and friendly locals , just relocate to Cambodia , there you both will get 1 year visas and you can run your online business.  I would choose PP as its better infrastructure there, or even Vietnam is an easy option out of Thailand.
