BANGKOK, 1st August 2018 (NNT) - Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said during his visit to a cultural promotion event at the Government House that doing good for other people is more important than a job title.

Gen Prayut visited Thailand Social Expo 2018 before attending the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. The expo showcased civil-state and grassroots-based projects by various government agencies including the Ministry of Culture, the organizer of the cultural promotion event.

The expo, which received great interest from the premier, was held to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, queen consort of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Gen Prayut was interested in how traditional Thai clothes were worn and the traditional art of Khon mask painting, among the attractions.

The premier pointed out while comparing one’s job to a Khon mask performer that, "We all are ordinary people once the masks have been removed," implying that a person’s worth is defined by good deeds rather than a job title.

In response to a proposal of the National Fisheries Association of Thailand asking the government to reconsider its policy on the employment of migrant workers, Gen Prayut said he would look into the matter.

He added that the Department of Employment has already been instructed to solve the shortage of workers in the fisheries sector while citing the need for employers to meet human rights standards if they wish to employ alien nationals.

It's just that some have bigger bank accounts than others.

There's no such thing as good PM in Thailand, there were a few good honest, god fearing PM's but they didn't last only one term, to be a PM in Thailand you have to wheel and deal with many factions and appease most of them if not all...

I don't know, but with him, it is the same as with Trump!

I wake up every morning and look at the news, with the same mixture of horror and amusement!

I assume he was only speculating when he made that statement....

It is very emblematic of the whole of Thai officialdom and official Thai culture that he should speak of wearing 'a mask'. Yes. Their lying masks hide a huge number of sins. In fact, the real face behind the mask is even more ugly than the mask itself ..

A person's worth is determined by all his assets, minus his liabilities.

Some have unexplainable wealth, and do little good, is that person worthless, mister PM?

Well Mr Prayut you are doing not a good job but a fantastic job of giving people here a daily dose of laughter.:cheesy:

Some of your comments are priceless, but surely you dont believe any of that garbage you spout almost daily.

Why are we even pretending, he means what he says?!

It would be GOOD if real democracy was returned to the people.

It would be GOOD if foreign laborers were given fair compensation and privileges.

It would be GOOD if Civilian Authority was restored.

It would be GOOD if graft and corruption was eliminated or reduced substantially.

It would be GOOD if the amount of  illegal drugs on the street were reduced substantially.

It would be GOOD if the amount of vehicular accidents leading to death or injury was halved.

It would be GOOD if....da da... da da... da da...

It would be good if Prayuth quit politics and retired.

And for those who have no chance to throw their names cards with fantasy titles at people in time, we provide tons of gold colored epaulettes even to parking lot attendants. :clap2::cheesy:

Since when is he a politician? Just saying it doesn’t made him one. He is just a puppet military strongman who seized power. Only force can made him quit.

I doubt that very much.

A very clever twist on words, all for show.

Does he claim he does good as a self appointed, untouchable, dictator?

I see position plus no good.

Not everyone can afford a mask.

Nice sentiments though, wonder do these wise poetic images get out to his cronies or are they just directed at the general impoverished?

I totally agree with him....

Doing good: "packing his things and leaving that country alone"

is MUCH more important than the

Job Title of PM...

He's right for once. He should step down and start doing good for the country.

Really? Does he truly believe this or, it seems to me, just another meaningless utterance to persuade the general population to continue supporting him? An "ego" trip?

Mr PM, clean up the terrible road trauma and also corruption if you want to do good! :post-4641-1156693976:

Otherwise, say nothing.
