Double murder at Buddha Mountain: Driver arrested says "Mr Fat" has fled to Cambodia

A combined contingent of Chonburi, Sa Kaew and Region 2 police surrounded at house in Sa Kaew province at 2am this morning where they ordered a man known as "Born" to come out with his hands up.

 

He complied and was taken into custody. He is 35 year old Kiatisak Surangsaengmeebun and has admitted to being the driver of a vehicle used during the double murder of "Spy and Fos" who were gunned down at the Buddha Mountain car park on Sunday.

 

He was adamant that he was not the shooter but said he was paid 100,000 baht to drive by wealthy Phuket man Panya Yingdang - known as "Sia Uan" or Mr Fat.

 

He told the cops that he took Panya and Sayan to the scene of the crime. Two cars were used.

 

After the crime he drove Panya to Klong 13 in Khao Sam Sip of Sa Kaew where Panya changed vehicles after giving him the 100,000 baht. He said he believed Panya then traveled to Cambodia though he didn't know which crossing he used.

 

Kiatisak then went in a Vigo but had an accident on the way near the municipal offices in Sa Kaew.

 

He decided to go and hide out at his mother's house where he was arrested.

 

Kiatisak was personally taken away by the head of the Chonburi police Pol Maj Gen Nanthachart Suphamongkhon for further questioning back in Chonburi.

 

The case continues.

If Thailand wants to garner trust/respect in the country on certain levels, even from their own citizens, then these type of people who brazenly do things like this need to be hauled in and made an example of rich or not. Behind this is double murder is probably something childish like she said "No" to Mr. Fat and wouldn't be his mia noi or something equally pathetic, so he thought his 'face' was lost and would kill her for having the temerity of having an opinion...plus her boyfriend for good measure. Thai society on these levels is awful and few really know how absolutely horrendous so many are with their twisted ideas of their position and entitlement plus place in society at the expense and misery of others they consider inferior...belongs in the dark ages really. So funny when the apologists rant off on how perfect everything is...there is plenty good about here but there is also plenty so very wrong too.

It doesn't. It has a self-sustaining feudal system based on patronage, massive inequality in terms of both wealth and power and a system of impunity for those within the power structure.

 

What incentive could there possibly be for anybody or any group near the top of this tree to undermine the very system that keeps them in power, immune from the strictures of the law, unfettered by the mores of society, protected from censure and with access to wealth unimaginable to the average Thai? That's a rhetorical question and the answer is none.

 

Politically this society has more in common with 18th century France than any 21st century society.

 

And coming back to this topic, that is why this relatively low-level organised criminal has been able to flee and will be able to lie low for a while and then enjoy the rest of his life by leveraging a little of his wealth and some of his bargaining power through his connections to make these charges slowly and gradually go away. He will have to wait for the fuss to die down but he will not be doing years of hard time as a murderer should.

Wasn't even her boyfriend, as I read that his mother stated that he was gay.

So lives lost and ruined for probably nothing.

Suspect in Sattahip double murder surrenders to Patong Police

One of the suspects in Sunday’s Sattahip double murder case has surrendered himself to Patong Police yesterday (Aug 2). Chonburi police have already taken the man back to Chonburi province for further questioning.
