What sort of personality traits do you need to marry a bargirl?
I doubt very much they would find that a free shag with you very satisfying with your scathing attitude towards women....... And the other 99% of Thai women wouldn't be very tempted either by the sound of you. A story worth considering: About 15 years ago, I was in a 7/11 in Phuket, near Kata Beach. A bar girl who was in the 7/11 at the same time clearly thought I couldn't speak Thai and she asked if I might need some help. Her English wasn't good, but she helped me find what I was looking for and she was very polite and helpful. At no time did I feel she was coming on to me and she finished her own shopping and left. I was surprised how nice she was. A few days later, I saw her in a Girly Bar as I was passing by. I never saw her again after that. The point I'm making is that she was kind, pleasant and helpful. Live and let live, Pal! There are thousands of other Thai women who are not Bar girls, but who will look down on you or screw you for your money But hey - you might actually prefer men or boys, perhaps? -

Do Foreign Men Often Move to Thailand Because They Can’t Get Women Back Home?
IMO it's not because they can't get women. It's the standard of women you can get. In Thailand even older men can get someone who is slim, attractive, no children, a decent attitude, looks after themselves and behaves like a woman. If the relationship fails, you can walk away financially intact as long as you are not stupid. In farangland, once over 40 you are likely to get someone in excess of 75kg, with 3 kids by 3 different fathers, who swears, drinks, smokes, and thinks the man should do all the housework in between his gym visits and earn 150k per year just to have a chance of allowing her to move into his home. When she becomes intolerable and is kicked out, she will try to take 50% of your life's work and likely succeed through the heavily biased judicial system. -

Would you send your kids to harvard?
I had a privilege to study with professors of Harvard. The way the material is presented is very visual, to the point, without the usual academic fluff unless you want to drill deeper. That was quite a big difference when compared with other universities, so if I had any kids, which I don't, I would definitely work towards it. Compared to other useless expenses, and having years to prepare for it, the tuition fees are achievable for many middle class families as well. -

Cambodia Faces Severe Climate Threat, Warns Senior Minister
Ly Thuch Cambodia’s economy is at serious risk from climate change, with its agriculture-dependent population among the most exposed in the region, according to Senior Minister Ly Thuch. Speaking at a high-level policy consultation in Phnom Penh on Wednesday, Thuch said around 70% of Cambodians rely on agriculture—an industry highly vulnerable to erratic weather patterns, floods, and prolonged droughts. The consultation, hosted by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP), focused on building climate-responsive macroeconomic resilience. “Climate change is no longer a distant threat—it’s here, and it’s disrupting economies across the region. Cambodia is particularly exposed,” said Thuch, who also chairs the country’s National ESCAP Committee. Despite the risks, Thuch praised Cambodia’s efforts under Prime Minister Hun Manet’s leadership to strengthen its climate defences. These include expanding the use of renewable energy, cutting carbon emissions, and reinforcing national energy security. He outlined four key recommendations to enhance climate resilience: using smart fiscal tools to support climate planning and investment; integrating resilience measures into every ministry’s strategy; scaling up climate finance for green infrastructure and agriculture; and crafting comprehensive national policies aimed at sustainability. Cambodia, one of Southeast Asia’s most climate-vulnerable nations, has increasingly positioned green growth at the heart of its development agenda. Yet experts warn that without bold and coordinated action, climate impacts could slow economic progress, damage livelihoods, and strain public resources. Thuch’s comments add urgency to a growing regional dialogue, as governments across Asia grapple with the twin pressures of development and environmental risk. For Cambodia, the stakes are especially high—its future prosperity may depend on how swiftly and effectively it adapts. -2025-07-11 -

USA Measles Resurgence in the U.S. Reaches 33-Year High Amid Vaccine Hesitancy
Get yourself bitten by a rabid cat or dog, and see how far nature gets you. Sorry, I forgot. Rabies is a virus, and you deny their existence. OTOH, it does attack the brain, so maybe your chances are better than most. -

Politics Thaksin Ends Friendship with Hun Sen Over Daughter's Scandal
The problem is with Thailand's LM laws. Regardless of what Hun Sen says, it's not going to get any mainstream or social media bandwidth legally here, where it probably matters. Catch yee-sihp song?
