Earplugs only block some noise. Depending on how loud the noise was they could have been next to useless.

Don't take everything so bloody literally. Some people on here are simply expressing sympathy for the extreme frustration the shooter must have been experiencing from the constant sleep deprivation.<deleted>

 

I have dealt with this situation myself, maybe that's why I can understand the frustration and the anger. Earplugs are inadequate, and the police don't give a toss. No, I didn't go out and murder anybody! Jeez!

Earplugs do nothing for the bass noise that rattles windows,walls and internal organs !!
