I would say there is an almost 0% chance it will be like Bkk.  Same as how Korat food court does not have Bkk prices.  Pattaya, being a tourist town, is going to be even more expensive than Korat. The Bkk food court is not as good as it seems anyways because the portions are really small.

Curious to know what the Korat T21 food court prices are? Are the portions a lot bigger BKK?

.. the normal population that visits malls is 95%, most of whom are Thai people.

Now I'm starting to wonder if you ever actually visit the malls. Ain't Somchai the Somtam seller who dwells in there, it's the lily white dolled up hi-so wannabes that roam the aisles. Plus a few farang mall rats.

Yuu never been to T21 Bangkok have you ? Try any Bangkok mall and see how many Thais you'll spot . I would say Tropo was spot on. But carry on in your fantasy world.

The clueless are the people who live in Naklua who think it will not affect them.

I live in Naklua and I do not think it will affect me much ?  I use my legs and can walk to the mall in 10 minutes. Or I can use my bicycle and will be there in 5 minutes. I couldn't care less if the traffic is at standstill .

But if you own a car you're up for a challenge , I can see that one.

When T21 opens I will probably never visit Central Festival again , except if I have to meet someone or go to Beach rod.

Thais love going to the mall.  Poor or hiso.

My favorite mall currently is Central Marina.

I like several things about it especially the massage chairs. ????

It is mostly a Thai mall.  The movies are all in Thai with an occasional English.

They seem to really like the Big C, Dairy Queen and Swenson's.

Good for them for having a place they enjoy I am sure many will carry over to T21.

N Pattaya area has become very touristy because of all the hotels.  Mostly higher end clueless first time tourists as far as I can tell.  Everything seems to be a little more expensive around there so I can't see T21 being a bargain for anything either.  Only reason to go to Central Marina mall is BigC and Texas Chicken. That Sukiyu (sp?) was also not bad until they raised their prices.

Lots of asian tourists around there so I call it Chinatown now.  There is even a little area designated chinatown beside Central Marina mall.

Yes. it's another facet of the 'edge of the known universe' paradigm.

Don't think there are any Starbucks, Coffee Club, and S&P either.  Not many franchises of any kind other than 7/11

Sukiya beef gyudon for 89 baht is good value.

Texas chicken is good and glad to see it's getting busier. I enjoyed church's chicken in Canada last night. Same restaurant as Texas chicken with much larger pieces of chicken.

Yeah it's a fake plastic Chinatown with overpriced subpar food. May as well put a sign up there saying tourist trap for the Chinese.

Once you get past the gimmicky stuff like the eiffel tower in the middle of the mall and the airport theme with different countries represented on different floors, I don't expect it to have much more to offer than the other malls.  I am hoping the food court has something more to offer but I suspect the same food cart type stuff at the same prices as Central.

There is also Thai Marche opening up across the street.  According to their facebook page, "Thai Marché Café and Restaurant provide a huge variety of authentic and famous Thai street food, all under one roof."

It will be the same shops you get in Central, and every other Mall.

Some of them, yes.

But if you look at the restaurant review hit and run thread there is a discussion of a number of restaurants new and unique to Pattaya (generally coming from Bangkok).

For people into food here, forgetting the food court, there are some very major openings coming soon at T21 Pattaya.

Which ones are "very major" exactly?  Hawker Chan just moved from Royal Garden.  I never ate there but people I know who have were not all that impressed.  I guess if you're a real foody, that likes to go to higher priced restaurants once in awhile, it will bring a few more options.  I wouldn't necessarily call it "very major" though.  There are already quite a few good restaurants around.  This will add a few more.  Also more of the same.

Your opinion noted. I won't say more because there is no point getting very engaged with heckling. Go to the review thread and see the list if you wish (but don't knock yourself out).

Where are these reviews of as yet unopened restaurants?  I am assuming you are referring to their Bkk locations.  I too would like to see a list of what all is going to be in T21 Pattaya, along with their Bkk reviews.

You disingenuously take the word "review" overly literally. You know full well as you post on that thread a lot that it's not only about literal reviews. I'm not going to get sucked into your heckling game further.

What other types of reviews are there?  You said I should go read the reviews on this board.  Asking where those are is not a trick question.

You are lying. I said the review thread to refer to the Hit and Run Review thread which you know full well is not limited to literal reviews, but rather is about any kind of information related to Pattaya area restaurants. Of course we can't literally review restaurants that don't exist yet but if they have locations elsewhere we can learn about what kinds of places they will be.
Dude, my patience has run out with your relentless disingenuous heckling. Find someone else to harass with your sophomoric games. Bye.

Who cares?

For me part of experiencing the place is to walk around and find out for yourself.

Well said. T21 will no doubt be open many years. Plenty of time to suss out everything on offer.

It seems to me that there is nothing at all wrong for some people (myself included) to be interested in what's coming soon in anticipation. Quite NORMAL actually.  Like if you're planning a trip to a new country, you might want to read up on it. Like if you're a sports supporter of a particular team you might want to anticipate the season following news about the players.
