Residence certificate chaos

Featured Replies

A few days ago I went to Promenada to update my TM30.

I noticed that there were a long line of queue for the residence certificate who didn't need to take a queue number. This line blocks the people going for TM30 reporting.

It seems that there is a change of process now. The pretty girl who used to sit there without doing much work (except twiddling her thumb) is now replaced by another girl who is busy doing some work.

It  used to be that we have to go there at least three trips .

1. get a booking number to apply at a later date (limited to 20 people per day)

2. apply for RC by submitting documents

3. collect your RC

I am not sure whether they have removed step 1 because it's quite silly but it looks like it. We still have to collect our RC after 3 weeks (I asked the busy officer).

Promenada 2nd floor is getting as chaotic as 1st floor. Why can't they just issue queue numbers for RC , there are queue number for TM30. At least the RC queue don't have to block TM30 people.

Why the need for two different systems (one with q number, one without) which is baffling.

Amazingly if you walk in to the shop just around the corner from the 2nd floor immigration office and cross their palms with silver residence certificates can be had the following day.

I guess you have to put the proposition in the idea box. (Same as the tip box these days)
