Your Windows License will Expire soon..your need to go to settings.....' keeps appearing on my screen. When I go to setting I am not sure what to do. I am afraid if I click on something something about renewing my licence I'll have to pay something. My windows 10 is a copy.

You will normally find that message because of an installation from a corporate version of the operating system. These tend to have 180 days before validation is required. Was the OS installed about 4 months ago?

If that is the case, if it was me, I would reformat with a valid retail copy of the OS. I'm not sure if you can change the version by following the setting's instructions, I may be mistaken here.

Valid Win10 serial numbers can be purchased on eBay for very little money and are legal. Activating with one of those ought to eliminate that message.

Google it online. you can get a program that validates windows and office continually. Works good...

Does it update ? as someone has said you can buy a legal version

of Windows 10 Pro, for very little money off Ebay UK, and the license

is delivered by email quickly, I have bought several,no problems.about

the same price as the local IT shop putting a cracked version on your

PC, plus all kinds of other stuff.

I suggest to buy a legal version. As mentioned by others you can buy a legal license key on eBay or similar.  Or like I did about 8 years ago, buy a legal copy in the shop for about 3k THB. At that time Windows 7 but updated now to 10.

i have had this problem with win8.1 purchased machine from big 'c'. complaining to big 'c' waste of time, going to settings, etc. takes you back to desktop and you can continue as normal, only downside is your computor will not recognise you as administrator so if your a geek you are f---ed.

Thanks Hkt83100 but i dont really use pc that much ,just for English language movies, maybe couple odd jobs.so really not worth the bother. if i get tired of present wife may give it a shot

Suzannagho ,sorry sweet but not so ,big'c'install windows from a copy ,this is done if you decline to purchase latest version. you need 16 digit license number to activate windows but you can bypass activation by going from settings to windows to desktop.or whatever,if you no need for administration you can continue quite happily.

or you have a cam running and they want you to pay. same like all your files could (are) be locked

and you have to pay to unlock.

legitimate keys to activate windows can be bought on eBay for about $5

That was what I did, paid with paypal. First two did not work, the third one did.

I bought a new laptop about 2 years back, the shop downloaded genuine Windows 10 before I picked it up (taking advantage of the offer to get Windows 10 free if the machine had a genuine copy of Windows 7). Never had any bother, occasional updates which all installed with no problems and over the last few weeks many banners saying 'updates ready' or similar, I clicked to install, some just a few minutes, a couple over an hour.

So i'm lost as to why this thread 'Your Windows License will Expire soon'.

I'm not sure what you're replying to that is not so.  My answer as to what KMSpico is?

Google knows all. That should always be your first port of call about anything you aren't sure about or want to know.

So you're disputing that KMSpico is a crack to make Microsoft think that your copy of Windows is activated?

Where did I say that? I suggested that knowing about anything is easy. Just Google it. I'm not sure how you twisted that to mean the opposite of what I wrote. I do have and use KMSpico on an old machine. It is actually a genuine Win 7 but I wanted to use it on a different (replacement) laptop and the Windows folks don't like that. Rather than go through a long and possibly fruitless task of trying to talk it over with them I was given the crack by a dealer so I could use the software I had already paid for.

The new versions of Win 10 will recognise that you do not have a valid licence and will gradually take away functionality.
I would suggest going to microsoft.com and buying a valid licence from them. MS has got wise to a lot of the online cracks and they no longer work.

Well I already have a valid license from when Windows 10 was legitimately downloaded,  so does the comment 'your license will expire soon' apply?
