More military oppression.  "You are only allowed to say what we tell you to say" and "You can only hear what we say is true"   Getting like North Korea.  Kim Jun Prayut

I agree there are things that should not be published b anybody.

But what are faked news?! Who always knows what are faked news if you not have a free press who undergo the informations and try to find out what is REALLY TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!

As long as hte government, the many institutions in Thailand as well as many agencies have uncontrolled informations spread over the country nobody knows what is true! or what is faked.

Dont follow Trumps stupid idea about faked news as all he not want to be faced are faked news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry as long a junta is dealing with many laws to stop REAL NEWS AND INVESTIGATING from a REAL PRESS, as long you cant believe anybody!

I don't, I believe the internet should be an open and free place. As soon as you start to bring in control from authority, it gets used to skew opinions and acts as a means of control.

I've been here since 2010, and things have progressively gotten worse. I think it's soon time to jump the sinking ship so to speak

Well, if you had a been here as long as me you would have seen even more radical changes then what you have witnessed since 2010.   Whilst we may notbe able to directly change things the more time outsiders stay, mingle, marry whatever,  we may at least try and influence.   Perhaps a drop in the ocean but at least try.    Running away will achieve nothing.

It won't achieve anything, correct. But I'm not going to sacrifice my freedom or my life for one country in the midst of many other beautiful and wonderful countries. I am in fact heading to Laos tomorrow for a week, I love the place. If I have to leave here, I won't bat too many eyelids. Pretty sure VPNs are going to be illegal in the not too distant future in LOS, that is where I'll be drawing the line

What about fake election dates? ?

Indeed. I spoke with a top ranking soldier recently who scoffed at the February election date and suggested it would more likely to be May. So yes indeed FAKE news?

Then it's alright to share this news article, with our friends, all around the world?  Or is this fake?

Very good point!

Presumably it would be ok to 'share' this story with others as it comes from an important policeman - so would be difficult to classify as 'fake news'?? ?

Are its the "I spoke to a top ranking soldier" routine  ?

message to RTP when you sort out your CORRUPT officers, deal with all forms of abuse, treat people as your customers not just ATMs, then and maybe then the Public will respect you and assist you.

Just image if the 'establishment' in civilised countries in the world acted this way...

Guess that depends what your definition of a civilised country is I suppose.

Yes your right it's more fake news. I confess I'm scared to name the man. Please forgive me. I made it up.

Whereas I am generally in favour of free speech, obviously a number of people cannot distinguish between fake and realistic news, and it seems indeed society needs to be protected from the internet diluge of bad taste.

Tide is turning already in Europe.
over 1000 people are facing or have faced the Judge in Denmark for sharing a child porno video.

one of the first guys on the stand got:
2 months jail and probation,
for 2 years on the sex offenders list and 10 years prohibited to work with or near minors.

good enough to cause a dramatic change in life.
Stops the career path for those looking to work as nurses, doctors, teachers, bus drivers etc, school janitors ....

I say GOOD !

And the reason? Makes the country look bad. It is what it is douche! You know what would look better a paper bag over the head so i dont feel like throwing up everytime your ugly ego wearing a pathetic little ill fitting person suit is on the tv spreading fake news.

Oh maybe its ok to make up news just not share it? Thats ok.

Just how is one supposed to verify a news item? Seeing it on one source only might make you wait but the KT stories appear on multiple outlets.

Of course I should not be responding to this story because how do I know that guy pictured is actually in authority?

Exactly! He could be a moppet, or a clown, or an imposter or a moron or even a police officer for that matter. How can we verify that he is who he thinks he is, and says what he thinks he is and what he is saying which may be true, or on the other hand, it may be false news and he could be a nobody or, heaven forbid - a con man or a scammer or even a 'bad' person trying to discredit the government - or perhaps someone with the letters BS in his name ... or he might be a genuine policeman - is there genuinely such a thing??

And there again, how do I know if you are really Doctor G - or even a real doctor? How do you know I am who I say I am - I might be someone else - a good person or a bad person -  or did someone with other initials impersonate you to implicate you in some king of false news story - so that someone with letters in his or her name might be persons trying to discredit you.... or me..... or them..... or those over there............. or Kermit or........  bla bla bla bla!

I just so love living here... I could never be as entertained as this in any other country!
