Crime Polish Tourist Avoids Robbery in Udon Thani Thanks to Language Barrier
Picture courtesy of Daily News A pair of would-be robbers in Udon Thani left empty-handed after an attempted mugging of a Polish woman went awry due to communication issues. The incident occurred near Nong Prajak Park in Udon Thani city, where the duo, armed and on a motorcycle, tried to rob the 29-year-old Polish tourist, Suzanna Natalia, late in the evening. At approximately 9:40 PM on 6th June, local police were alerted to the attempted robbery. Rachapol Thanawat, Deputy Inspector of Udon Thani Police Station, led a response team to the scene. Picture courtesy of Daily News There, they found the victim along with a helpful passerby, Veruka Potdech, a special education teacher who had been walking in the area after dining nearby. The robbers, described as a man and a woman on a motorcycle, allegedly attempted to intimidate Ms Natalia into handing over her valuables. However, when they realised there was nothing valuable in her bag, they demanded a mobile transaction. Unfortunately for them, their demands fell flat, as the language barrier made communication impossible. The offenders, frustrated and unable to unlock the victim’s phone, returned the items and departed. Joseph, a local assistant officer of mixed English descent, corroborated this account, noting the perpetrators wore contrasting jackets, a black one for the driver and a white one for the passenger, before fleeing the scene. Police, suspecting the robbers fled on a red Yamaha Filano or Honda Scoopy motorcycle, are now reviewing CCTV footage to track their escape route and continue their investigation. Accident Two Dead, Three Injured as Car Flips Over Central Reservation After Night Out in Bangkok
Picture courtesy of Matichon. Two men were killed and three others injured in a horrific early-morning crash after their car flipped over a central reservation on Chalong Krung Road in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district. The crash occurred around 03:00 on 6 June, near the overpass above the motorway in the Lam Pla Thio subdistrict. Police and rescue workers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation rushed to the scene following reports of a serious crash involving a private vehicle. Emergency responders found a white Honda Freed, registration number from Bangkok, overturned and heavily damaged on its side in the leftmost lane of the two-lane road. One victim was found dead at the scene, crushed beneath the wreckage, while another was critically injured and later died despite emergency resuscitation efforts. The deceased were identified as Mr. Sirawit, 23 and Mr. Thanaphat, 22. Their bodies were transported to the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine for post-mortem examination. Three others sustained injuries including abrasions and suspected arm fractures. They were treated at the scene and then transported to Chularat 9 Hospital. The injured survivors were named as Mr. Sitthaphat, 22, Mr. Kittichai, 23, and Mr. Natthanan, 22. According to preliminary statements from the injured passengers, the group of five friends had been out drinking at a bar earlier that night. On their way home to Min Buri, while descending the motorway overpass, the vehicle encountered a flooded stretch of Chalong Krung Road. The slippery surface caused the driver to lose control. The car veered into the central reservation, vaulted across two lanes of opposing traffic and overturned. Police are currently waiting for the three injured survivors to recover sufficiently before questioning them further to determine who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. Legal proceedings will follow in accordance with the findings. Adapted by Asean Now from Matichon 2025-06-07 -

My wife wanted me to sign a document any money she gets is hers!
I've noticed that a few members seem to have joined Team Wind Up ! Guess those cooking threads and IT threads are not arousing much interest . I can't reveal too much because the Team captains hate me for calling things out. Maybe I got some brownie points today for participating in an ego slugfest on this thread with a serial narcissist . I gotta admit.... it was pretty exhilarating ! Can't wait till tomorrow ! hahahaaha ( due to mental restraints, i must now put a warning on my posts that there may be sarcasm inside ) -
