Atit Daosawang speaks at a news conference April 17, 2016, in Bangkok.

BANGKOK — The police force gave a red card Friday to a celebrity footballer mixed up in a series of serious allegations, including raping a minor and threatening to murder his girlfriend.

The decision to expel Atit Daosawang marked the end of the Chiang Rai United defender’s police career, three years after he joined the ranks as a noncommissioned officer. Police spokesman Krissana Pattanacharoen said the 25-year-old athlete has missed more than 15 days of work without explanation.

So let's get this right.  He was dismissed from the police force for missing an unexplained 15 days of work.   Alleged rape of a minor and threats to murder his girlfriend were not the prime mover for his dismissal.  Amassing Thailand and even more amassing RTP.

Yes, let's get this right, it doesn't say that at all in the article.

Are you normally supportive of instant job dismissals for ‘alleged’ misconduct or would you prefer due process of an investigation or conviction first ?

Anyway, in a typically indirect Thai fashion, they have found another valid reason to bin him.

Again you seem to have defective vision.  Where in either of my posts have I stated was I supportive of their decision ?  I just stated the facts as they were reported. You appear to neither understand those reports , nor my post, but rather try to be obtuse by indirectly criticising my comment on what appears to be a factual report.  If you actually understood my first report, which clearly you didn't, you would have known my thoughts regarding the reasoning for his dismissal.

Does the original article say there was NO investigation?

Is it possible that the article is abbreviated, details omitted, for brevity?

sounds like a real loser, fortunate he no longer wears a badge.

Do the Crime, do the Time... it's a fair cop!

A little confused here.  Is he a football player (I assume that's what "footballer" means) or a policeman?

He was both a football player and a policeman.

That may have been the official reason given , but there were other numerous factors involved

You mean the ones that were not reported but are in your imagination ?

Why was he dismissed? A Red Card? That must be very serious. I am surprised he wasn't transferred to an "inactive post" like most other thieving, cheating, extorting and sexually opportunistic policemen.

It was reported that he had threatened to murder his Wife , that he raped a child , and that he was a gambler and alcoholic and was in debt .

The RTP tend not to sack Police officers ,  some or all the allegations must have been true

Pesky footballer giving the police a bad name. Of course I'm joking.

So why don't you just read all of the thread first,  starting from my post 2,  and then you may have a better grasp and understanding of what I said.

I have already replied to your post number 2 , its on the previous page (near the bottom of the page)

Then you have no excuse for repeating what is already known

I am stating what it was that he did to get the sack .

All those allegations are probably true .

The investigation is still on going and so the Police will have a good idea about what sort of person he is .

The 15 AWOL is just the official reason given .

Im quite sure that they didnt sack him solely for going AWOL for 15 days

They are allegations and until proven can not be assumed to be true. It is the RTP afte all we are talking about here.

Considering that they sacked him, they were probably true

You missed this part (again) the police force gave a red card Friday to a celebrity footballer mixed up in a series of serious allegations, including raping a minor and threatening to murder his girlfriend.

Nowhere it is stated that the missing work part is the main reason he got sacked (you love to think so though)

Note the word ALLEGED!

You are assumed not guilty until the courts decided you did it.

Which means the RTP could not fire him on accusations, so they found another stick.

Too many lives are destroyed by false accusations.

And too many are in prison bases on false accusations.

.......he joined the ranks as a noncommissioned officer.

So that's why the RTP are overgraded. They are NCOs as soon as they join!

You really can not read the initial report can you ?  Never mind

it is you who can't read, have fun.

'Footballer accused of rape loses police job.'

And anybody with half a brain rightly revamps that as football-playing police officer accused of rape loses job.

The accusation of raping a minor was made in 2016 so it's obviously taken them a while to decide that's a reason to get rid of him.
