The aim is to drive at full speed in reverse on the wrong side of the carriage way all they back to the Sukhothai period. 20 year plan with no opportunity for succeeding gov'ts to change/adjust policy means upcoming (and successive) elections are moot. Merely window dressing for the int'l community. 20 yrs is ample time to drain the treasury and pad offshore bank accounts. And when Thailand (the tired old whore that she is-polluted and corrupt) is on the verge of financial collapse and is an economic basket case, it will be time to move funds back in and "revitalise" the economy @ 10 cents on the dollar while those funds have been marinating overseas for 2 decades. And yet, the general Thai population/community continue to be independent, self-sufficient and live life as they see fit. As it's always been [most outsiders don't have the ability to recognize]. Amazin', aint it.

My post was not a dig against normal Thais struggling to get along through honesty and hard work. Just taking a jab at those (the amart) who feel entitled to stifle the independence of their own hard-working people. Can you agree that this appears to be a power grab to maintain the status quo of the elite?

It seems real. Albeit not fully developed and implemented. PM’s Office Minister Kobsak Pootrakool: the strategy will only lay the necessary framework and, while it has to be adhered to, it could be adaptable depending on future factors. “[The country] has been sick of changing governments so often. Many good projects are either suspended or cancelled,” “That’s why we need this type of framework for our country to develop.” http://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/politics/30347155 In the 2017 Constitution under Article 270 the junta-appointed senators as per Article 269 shall have the duty and power to monitor, recommend, and accelerate the national reform for the purpose of achieving the objectives as under Chapter 16 National Reform, and the preparation and implementation of the National Strategy. In this regard, the Council of Ministers shall report the progress of the implementing the national reform plan to the National Assembly in every three months. It appears that the military is tired of resetting (through military coups?) national strategies set by elected governments to what the pro-military factions believe should guide the country to the year 2036. And the National Strategy has been embedded into laws and the Constitution to assure future elected governments cannot change the military's priorities for the nation. 1

No. I would be seriously impressed if I could, considering he died about the time when my first mobile phone was the size and weight of a brick with a battery life measured in minutes not days. It could talk within about 5 miles of a tower, it never quite managed heaven .. or hell. Even my new one doesn't manage it, either. Astounding how most eat up the propagandized ideals of false advancement of medical/nutrition. The dumbed down become dumber.
