BANGKOK, 18 October 2018 (NNT) – Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister for Legal Affairs has spoken in an attempt to allay public concerns about the draft cyber security law, saying it is yet to be finalized.

Responding to worries that the draft Cyber Security Act would be rushed through the Cabinet meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam pointed out that, in compliance with Section 77 of the Constitution, the government is obligated to conduct a public hearing on any new legislation at every step, including before the matter is presented to the Cabinet.

In this regard, the deputy premier asked the Thai people to understand that holding public forums means the bill is still open to revisions and that no conclusions have been reached. Nonetheless, he said public comment on the lawmaking process is always welcome.

Security.

Of course.

Security towards or for what?

What are they attempting to protect?

The answers surely won't surprise anyone.

Thailand isn't alone on this control, its world wide, invasion of privacy, call it what ever you like, its a government lazy way through technology to control what people can or can't do and track, big brother is another terminology, sharing information btwn departments,   that's what it amounts to , former Prime Minister of Australia John Howard won a  further four years with scaremongering and cyber crime , (Be afraid but don't be alarmed the advert went) although it didn't do the insipid one much good, he lost his electret seat in the next election, only the second PM in history to do so, perhaps Thailand might be fortunate and it will happen here.
