Apologies if this has been dealt with elsewhere on the Forum. I couldn't find it if it has.

I first arrived in Thailand under a 60 day tourist visa on 30 September. I left Thailand and entered Laos on 28 November.

I returned to Thailand via Poipet (Cambodia) on 20 January under a Visa Exempt stamp which gave me 30 days grace.

I had been planning on doing a visa run tomorrow to Poipet and back. However I'd very much apppreciate some reassurance as to the meaning of the below, which I took from tourismthailand.org.

"Foreigners who enter the Kingdom under the Tourist Visa Exemption category may re-enter and stay in Thailand for a cumulative duration of stay of not exceeding 90 days within any 6-month period from the date of first entry".

Is the reference above to "first entry" a reference to the date on which I first entered under my 60 day visa, or is it the date I first entered under my 30 day visa exempt stamp?

I assume it refers to the date of entry under the visa exempt stamp. If otherwise it will put me in extremely serious difficulties, and make it all but impossible for me to get home without serious expense. I need the extra time in order to make my return flight. My airline cannot accomodate me with an earlier flight, and I can't afford another.

As I say I think it's from the date of entry under the visa exempt stamp, but I'd be seriously grateful to anyone who could clarify/confirm.

You can not spend more than 90 days in any six month period in Thailand using visa exempt entry. You are fine for another stay or two but after that you would require a visa if you did not let some time pass.

Thanks for that.

Really was just worried that they'd take the time I was here under my Visa into account in determing date of first entry.

Good to know that it's just the date on the "visa exempt stamp" that's relevant.
