BANGKOK, 30 October 2018 (NNT) – Noted individuals and celebrities from around the world have joined in grieving for King Power CEO Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who tragically died in a helicopter crash in the UK over the weekend, with King Power Group issuing a statement of thanks for the outpouring of support.

A King Power Group statement confirmed that Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was among those killed in a helicopter crash outside of King Power Stadium in Leicester City of the United Kingdom. It expressed deep sadness and grief while announcing support for the Srivaddhanaprabha family and the families of the four other individuals who lost their lives in the incident. On behalf of the Srivaddhanaprabha family, the company thanked all executives, staff and others for their support during this time. Those who wish to join in expressing their condolences can do so at www.kingpower.com/condolence

Members of the Srivaddhanaprabha have since traveled to the crash site in the parking lot of King Power Stadium to lay a wreath, receiving support from fans of the Leicester City football team.

Prince William of the United Kingdom expressed his condolences in a royal message, voicing care and concern for Vichai’s family and lauding him as valuable businessman and philanthropist who devoted his life to the sport of football. He acknowledged Vichai’s hand in Leicester City’s noteworthy 2016 championship season and assured he would be remembered by the team’s fans.

British Prime Minister Theresa May posted a message of condolence to Vichai’s family via Twitter, noting that the outpouring of grief over his passing is an affirmation of his importance. The tweet joined many more from celebrities around the world who commented on the incident in social media.

The helicopter carrying Vichai was also carrying Nusra Suknamai , Kaweeporn Phanphrae and pilots Eric Swaffer and Izabela Roza Lechowicz.

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was born on April 4 1958 and served as both CEO of King Power Group, Thailand’s leading duty free retailer, and chairman of the Leicester City football team. He was named Thailand’s fourth richest person by Forbes Magazine in 2017 with assets worth 155 billion baht.

Certainly from the UK no one can say anything bad about him...

RIP

Someone already has. In the British national newspapers someone has alleged the beauty queen killed with club's owner was his mistress. So the mud slinging begins.

It cant be a very pleasant discovery for his wife to find out that the beauty queen was also on the helicopter with him, however I don't suppose there's much point worrying about it now.

Well any man, or woman for that matter, would suspect as much. Does anyone REALLY think she was an assistant on merit of her mental abilities?

Anyway, back on topic. Condolences to all those who were lost, not just the famous/wealthy ones.

I am sure Vichai's wife was fully aware of their relationship. Nursara attended almost every Leicester City home game with Vichai or Aiyawatt, she was purportedly his personal assistant (in a business manner).

Is it just a coincidence that shortly a challenge to King Powers monopoly of the duty-free business in Thailand is coming up? The sad death of Khun Vichai may rock the boat.

I don't think it was a secret inside the family. I think it was accepted. Therefore I don't see anything wrong with it.

I don't think it will rock the boat. He wasn't the only one running King Power. It's a big team and they will continue doing their business as usual.
