I KNOW this is probably ANOTHER stupid question from a newbie, but please bear with me. I assume that the Bangkok Immigration office is always busy, but, is there one day of the week a BETTER day to go than another day??? Likewise, is there a BEST time of day, when they are at their least busiest time?? And, lastly, what time of day do they open, or more correctly, what time should I show up to take my place in line??

Other than dressing respectfully, and bringing all of my paperwork with me, is there any other detail that I should be careful not to overlook?? All I want to do is to convert my tourist Visa to a Non-Immigrant Type O Visa - am I correct that this should NOT be a big deal??

Thank you for your patience - some day, I will learn all these things, and won't have to bother you guys anymore!!

I haven't been to Suan Plu for donkey years so I cannot help with specific timing. As a general rule as early as possible work best. Proper dressing as you pointed out is a must.

Not sure about converting your visa but if you are looking for a retirement visa it should work.

And a good book or magazine will be definitely useful :o

Actually converting a visa is a rather big deal but if you have the paperwork it should go smoothly. I assume this is for marriage extension of stay after conversion and you have the 40k family income to support it. As well as the old requirements for the conversion.

Believe they suggest Wednesday and Thursday as slower days. Things do seem to speed up after the 12-1300 lunch break (suspect many in queue get lost (figuratively) and don't return on time.

Office hour: Mon-Fri 8:30 - 16:30

Closed on Saturday, Sunday and OFFICIAL HOLIDAYS

After reading back see it is retirement that will be your extension so easier as the requirements have not changed for that type - 800k or 65k monthly income. Should be routine as they seem to be happy to process retirement type applications. The only new requirement is the the 800k, if used, must have a three month history in account.
