Boonlert Kanpakdee holds 100,000 baht with attorney Songkran Atchariyasap, at right, Monday at Khan Na Yao Police Station.

BANGKOK — A small town official came to the capital Monday to complain about selling a buffalo to a poor farmer whose friendship with the animal made them an internet sensation.

Accompanied by a gadfly ultra-conservative lawyer, an angry Boonlert Kanpakdee went to police in Bangkok’s Khan Na Yao today to complain that he hadn’t meant to sell Tongkum the buffalo and never expected Surat Phaeoket to actually come up with his 100,000 baht asking price.

From the full story:

"Songkran Atchariyasap, a lawyer previously in the news for his outrage over displays of sexuality. He also is the head and sole member of the Network Against Acts that Destroy Kingdom, Religion and Monarchy."

I bet the NAADKRM meetings are lively.

"With him was Songkran Atchariyasap, a lawyer previously in the news for his outrage over displays of sexuality. He also is the head and sole member of the Network Against Acts that Destroy Kingdom, Religion and Monarchy.

“He solicited funds through people who believed him. I also donated money,” said Songkran, who himself had donated 100 baht. “Soliciting money from citizens is like tricking them. He tricked all the media as well.”

So if you believe soliciting donations is tricking people, why did you donate money?

He hadn’t meant to sell the buffalo?.... he sold it by accident?..... more than one buffalo in this story

This time a friend and his buffalo will not be parted. For holy mackerel, it isn’t the pig in Charlottes Web

The other guy is probably angry thar this guy possible is going to make money on the internet with the buffalo.

God what a nasty person and crazy lawyer. But a sale is a sale he accepted the money so i doubt it can be cancelled.

Maybe he hopes the farmer has no money for a lawyer. What a low specimen of a human.

I hope he gets his arse kicked in this one.

Another one who wishes this country was still in the 19th century.

I'm sure he flagellates himself with tree branches in front of posters of Prayut in his oldie worldy costumes.

Imbeciles.

Songkran Atchariyasap has a big future in Hollywood.  He's got it all.

And Tongkum's bird Kao Him has got a bun in the oven by him so that's bound to complicate things even further ..

Not sure what an ultra-conservative lawyer has got to do with it.  Seriously you couldn't make this up.

Good luck to the buyer.

Tongkum the Buffalo. I suspected Thais were giving them names, after all, the best earning member of the family thanks to all that love from the Farangs. I think it would be appropriate to name at least one a John, though.

Dutch cows have names too, nothing unusual at all. I did some accounting for Dutch farmers so i know. I had to look at cattle registration cards too.

An apprentice criminal lawyer? ????

The water buffalo... today almost useless as it has been replaced by the iron buffalo:

Actually, we have 2 water buffaloes in the college! They were gifts from a local farmer that didn't use them anymore and he had come to realize that raising cows on the small grassing area he has would give him a better profit. Initially he had actually tried to sell them, but no farmers in the area were interested as no one is using water buffaloes around here...
