Hello,

You're supposed to get your non-B revoked at the immigration office

where you do the extension with a termination letter from your work

before you leave Thailand, but can do you that at the airport before

you fly out of Bangkok?

Thank you in advance.

Given you mention extension, i assume extension of stay ?...ergo you dont have a B visa anyway

If your not coming back just leave and let it expire

My question is if I can get my Non-B (extension) cancelled with a

termination letter at the airport before you leave the country.

Thank you.

Only the immigration office that issued your extension of stay can cancel your extension of stay. Immigration at an airport cannot do it.

Leaving the country makes your extension invalid,

When you exit the country the permission to stay (extension of stay) ends.

The airport IO’s do not insist that the permit to stay is cancelled at the issuing immigration office.

Unless you have a multi-reentry stamp? That burned me once when trying to invalidate an extension.

Or a single re-entry permit if you use it to enter the country.

Not technically correct.

When you exit your stay (“extension”) ends. Having a re-entry doesn’t change that.

If you re-enter and have a valid re-entry permit — and the permit is used — a new stay is granted for the remainder of the previously authorised stay.

On re-entry you could ask the IO not to use the re-entry permit and there’s nothing stopping the IO from complying. Showing your employment termination letter or a new visa would probably help if the officer the insists otherwise..

Only if the IO insists on using the re-entry permit would you have a problem.

It would make sense for someone with a valid re-entry permit — that’s planning to return before it expires — to cancel it and the extension before leaving.
