Yellow Submarine Tour Speedboat In Collision..........

Featured Replies

SOURCE: Pattaya City News: February 16th 2007

Four people injured in boating accident.

At 9am on Friday morning police from Soi 9 station were asked to come to both Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital and Pattaya Memorial Hospital following reports of a serious boating accident that had taken place in the area near the Bali Hai pier.

According to witnesses, a speedboat assigned the task of taking a group of tourists out to rendezvous with the popular yellow submarine cruises of Pattaya Bay was involved in a crash with another speedboat about one kilometer off the Bali Hai pier.

One South Korean man, 45 year old Mr Kim Han Dook, was taken to Bangkok-Pattaya hospital while three Thai men were transported to Pattaya Memorial.

Although full details are sketchy at this stage, it is believed none of the injuries to the four victims is serious.

Why was the Korean taken to a different hospital?

Is that rhetorical?

Either

1) He thought that Bangkok - Pattaya hospital was better, was happy to pay the extra price, and asked to be taken there.

or

2) Somebody wanted to help him and thought that that would be better for him, but not the Thais, for some reason.

or

3) It's standard practice to maximize the profit from a farang, in all situations.

or

4) Something else (gotta be pc!).

I'd guess at number 3, but now I'll be accused of being anti Thai...
