December 1, 20187 yr Been up to see his vacation home up in Kennebunkport,Maine. Many beautiful beaches just south of that area. I enjoyed the SNL Dana Carvey impersonations .
December 1, 20187 yr "a legacy of service that may never be matched" just a tad exaggerated, but George Bush Sr has my respect. RIP
December 1, 20187 yr Made his share of mistakes but a better president than many in the World community. He brought some respect for the USA.
December 2, 20187 yr Popular Post Good! Now let us wait for the history of this man to unfold! His advisers were very clever, lie lie and lie some more "have you ever been employed by the CIA before becoming its director? No! NO? weren't you in Dallas in '63? Umm!
December 2, 20187 yr Popular Post Such short, convenient memories people have now that he's dead. Does nobody remember how malicious a man he was? Nobody did more in modern times to restrict research into marijuana. His family owns so much Big Pharma and Dupont stock, he had to protect the chemical producers from the natural benefits of marijuana. What about his tenure as head governmental cocaine dealer in the Iran-Contra affair? GHWB was The Man running the whole show. Yes, he was a decent sort, in a way, but he and his pathetic son did America no favors. Their whole shtick was to protect the family jewels ($$$). RIP, you won't be missed.
December 2, 20187 yr An inflammatory post has been removed. He was not convicted or charged with crimes.
December 2, 20187 yr I don't know of any president whose record is to everyone's liking. He certainly did things I didn't care about. One of his more courageous acts was his taking on of the NRA and his letter of resignation from the organization for remarks made by the NRA president after the Oklahoma bombing: Dear Mr. Washington, I was outraged when, even in the wake of the Oklahoma City tragedy, Mr. Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of N.R.A., defended his attack on federal agents as "jack-booted thugs." To attack Secret Service agents or A.T.F. people or any government law enforcement people as "wearing Nazi bucket helmets and black storm trooper uniforms" wanting to "attack law abiding citizens" is a vicious slander on good people. Al Whicher, who served on my [ United States Secret Service ] detail when I was Vice President and President, was killed in Oklahoma City. He was no Nazi. He was a kind man, a loving parent, a man dedicated to serving his country -- and serve it well he did. https://www.nytimes.com/1995/05/11/us/letter-of-resignation-sent-by-bush-to-rifle-association.html?fbclid=IwAR17TNVqUBG6dEhqXRbb-dSNQCqPMpOu1STaixHxXj8Oq7kTK_tHLz0faS0

December 5, 20187 yr Far as I'm concerned, only memorable for 2 things- lying about taxes and stopping the first Iraq war before it should have been, meaning a second was necessary.
