Tech cops acting on a tip off at the weekend arrested 16 Chinese nationals after a raid on two houses in the Pak Kret area of Bangkok.

An informant had said there was suspicious behavior over the last month at the unmarked houses in Chaeng Wattana - Pak Kret Soi 32.

A group of Chinese people were staying in one house and apparently working in another.

Armed with a warrant Thailand technology cops discovered the eleven men and 5 women were running a stock speculation business on WeChat designed to rip off their Chinese compatriots back home.

Twenty two desktop computers, 156 phones and 86 sim cards were taken into evidence.

Do they get to keep those t-shirts?

What do they have printed on them?

I Told People Stock was Good When It Was Bad And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt

- I know very little about the stock market.

My wife called about them.  They were going in and out at all hours.  They said it was a business, but no sign out front.  With all the gossiping peeps around my house, can’t get away with anything ????

Bangkok Boiler Room scams been going on for decades, selling worthless shares, they seem to trend around different nationalities at different periods depending on the easy money & lack of scam awareness in the target country.

Nothing illegal about speculating. Selling fake shares is blatant fraud, though.  Not surprising the Lefty media can't differentiate.  Same goes for the bit coin scammers several months ago..Bitcoin was only the means used to get money to the scammers, who stole it.  Could have paid them in chickens..same result.  No need to taint financial markets, they already are tainted, but many things would not be possible without them.
