I decided to utilize Direct Deposit of my U.S. Social Security payment via Bangkok Bank. This would hopefully provide a proof source that I meet the B65000 monthly income requirement for a Retirement extension of stay. I had an existing savings account that I now asked to have the Direct Deposit feature. Immediately after applying for the Direct Deposit, the existing features of internet banking and ATM withdrawal were cancelled. I then had to establish a new savings account to allow electronic banking. So when the direct deposit starts, I will need to go to a branch office and do a counter withdrawal and deposit into the new savings account. Just a heads up for those looking to use direct deposit feature. Please note that I do not have confirmation that the monthly income approach I have taken is acceptable to Thai Immigration but it's the stategy I am taking (along with getting the US Embassy "verification" letter later this month).
