True "super High Speed Internet"

Featured Replies

I noticed True's latest offering and looked into this a bit. I am currently on a small business pacakage (at home) 2Mb down : 512k up paying 2600ish a month (sme package's bandwidth is supposed to be guaranteed - pah!)

Anyway moving swiftly on, for just 2200 a month I could have 5Mb down and 512k up on True's super high speed adsl service.

The catch is you need an active True move mobile phone acount to qualify for the service!

Im outraged by this of course but 5mb down for less money is tempting...

So has anyone used this yet?

Is it worth the hassle of swapping over from AIS to True Move?

How does True move stack up against its rival these days?

I have a wild guess it's definitely doesn't worth the hussle...I have 4Mb/512 and it's still crap, can't see what help would I get with 5Mb

Wasn't there supposed to be an automatic upgrade in speed for all customer, to be completed by today? I am still waiting for mine, things should be faster by 256 for everyone.

Yes, according to the website it should have been automatic and completed by today, an upgrade of 256-512k for those people who also have True Move or UBC. Mine hasn't been upgraded, but my UBC subscription is in a different name.

On another note, I said that when I first subscribed to True's ADSL (after not using it for a couple years because of being fed up with its service) it was still as slow and as bad as ever, with effective international speeds of around 10% of my actual bandwidth. Then, a couple weeks later out of the blue, it suddenly jumped to nearly 80-90% for most things, but P2P still sucked. Today, I tried my P2P connection again (I sporadically check it) and now even that's improved, not great, but to the "it's actually usable" level. This is really unheard of for True... their service actually *improving*. I wonder if hel_l's frozen over?

Just got this a few days ago, went from 512/256 to 1024/512. Its definately help my IN thailand transfers but dont notice any real difference with my out of thailand stuff.

I did have a mobile phone sim from true and simply had it moved over to the new plan, all it takes is a sim from true. ;-)

It did save me some cash as well as boosting my speed

I am still waiting, I will give them a call tomorrow, speed things along!

We called True yesterday, and they said that as UBC subscribers, we have to wait until March 6th to get the upgrade.

We called True again yesterday as we had no internet connection at all from 4.30pm. They rang back this morning and said that they found no problem...it must be our computer - we have two computers and both didn't get any sort of connection. So they lied again.

We have had 3 visits from True engineers in the last week - they even changed the router (again). The engineers said everything is working at this end.

True must know that we had visits from the engineers - which makes the lie more blatant. I even had to leech next doors wi fi connection to send them an email last night..

At this moment, I am just about connected - no yahoo. google etc.

True are definately the worst of a bad bunch-and I doubt that any 'upgrade' will improve anything.

Now that experience is more like like what True is all about. Incompetant engineers, CS, accountants, staff, etc. etc. etc. I was wondering if True was cleaning up their act, and am relieved to find that they are just like their old selves.

I spoke to them this morning and was told that the upgrade will not be available in my area, as they don't have the capacity. Despite advertising that they did! A bunch of witless clods, trying to out do each other in stupidity! :o
