Hero Raises Alarm and Saves A Family.

On the 20th of February at 4.00am Banglamung Police were called to investigate a fire at the Ratchanee Sound and Automobile accessories shop on Sukhumvit Road near the Highway Police Station.

Police along with Pattaya Fire Brigade and Rescue Volunteers quickly went to the scene and found flames and severe smoke coming from the shop. They also heard screams for help from someone trapped inside.

Once authorities went inside they quickly realized that a number of vehicles were on fire and the blaze had quickly engulfed the inside of the shop.

It took Officers around 30 minutes to eventually get the flames under control and extinguish the fire. The officers then successfully rescued two Thai men who were trapped on the second floor in a state of unconsciousness. They were identified as Worrasak Leelaralilert, aged 29, who is the younger brother of the shop owner and Surachai Promdamrong, aged 18, an employee of the shop.

The two had sustained serious smoke inhalation and were both taken to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya.

Police investigation unearthed six vehicles and numerous items which were in the shop that had been consumed in the fire and the expected bill of damage is likely to be very high.

An eye witness Rung Glinkham, aged 37, told Police he had been walking passed the shop and spotted the red glimmering light of flames within the shop. He quickly raised the alarm and shouted out loud to warn anybody inside the shop of the impending danger but there was no immediate reply.

Eventually the owner of the building exited the back door of the shop with his family, however it seems the other two victims could not be awaken.

They however are likely to make a full recovery in this clearly, lucky escape.
