TCL TV with built in Android system

Featured Replies

A month ago we bought a new TV. This time a TCL 49C6US which has android built in.

We find the picture and sound to be very good. The android is working  well but to download apps many of those I use had to be “sideloaded”.  The two remotes that came with the TV have no mouse function so we use a Minex Neo A2 as well as this function is needed by many of the apps I use. I have used android boxes before and still do so in the bedrooms. Android is used mainly for streaming purposes.

If I should buy a TV today I will not select one with android built in as I find the combination TV plus android box a better option.

Yesterday I had a problem with the TCL TV as into the picture a large “pop up” came up requesting me to select “input”. I sent a video to TCL service centre in Bangkok followed up by a phone call. The technician told me something wrong with one of the remote controllers. So took out the batteries of both of them and problem gone. One of the remotes caused the problem. So the problem easily and quickly solved. Excellent service.

I then requested them to send me a new remote and was told even if the TV has 3 years warranty the warranty for the remote is only 7 days!
