Hi guys

I know its been asked before but I dont know the latest news regarding the broken internet cables near Taiwan. Over the last 2 weeks my internet browsing is real slow and my p2p application works at modem speeds. Whats the latest news about the cables, is it being fixed in the foreseeable future

Cheers

This may help. Here's the repair schedule I got from a rep in the True IP Support division in the middle of January:

Expected Repair Completion Date (Tentative) for :

SMW3 : 15 JAN 2007

FLAG-TYCO : 15 JAN 2007

APCN2 : end of JAN 2007

C2C : FEB 2007

So, all should be fixed....supposedly. I'm sure someone can dig up a news story telling of newer development (I'm lazy right now). My connections have been stellar the last few days...but I am on a SME account.

Last night, a major cable between Ang Thong and Singhburi was cut off, and Northern Thailand (at least TT&T lines) experienced extremely slow to non-existent Internet. Fixed today, but it's not exactly lightning fast today either.
