Slovenian finds himself in hot water after girlfriend puts politics before romance

A 54-year-old Slovenian man staying in Kalasin’s Mueang district found himself in trouble with the authorities at the weekend for slashing eight election campaign posters after his Thai girlfriend had missed their Valentine’s Day dinner date, during which he planned to ask her to marry him, in order to canvass for an election candidate.

Police oppose bail after man’s ‘stray’ bullet kills 14-year-old girl in Buri Ram

Police on Monday objected to the release on bail of a 30-year-old Thai man who had allegedly opened fire twice at a group of youngsters, reportedly merely to threaten them, but whose stray bullet fatally struck a Mathayom 2 schoolgirl instead in Buri Ram’s Lam Plai Mat district on Saturday afternoon.

Myanmar girl ‘abducted’ found safe and unhurt at her friend’s home

A 14-year-old Myanmar girl whose migrant-worker father had on Sunday reported her missing and feared she might have been lured away by an individual with ill intent, – was found safe and sound yesterday at her friend’s house in Kanchanaburi’s Sangkhla Buri district.

ANGRY WITH politicians proposing a cut in the defence budget, Army chief General Apirat Kongsompong ordered the ultra-rightist song “Nak Phaendin” to be aired every day on 160 Army radio stations across the country, but later withdrew the order.

Rangsit Uni poll puts Palang Pracharat leading with 21.5 percent
