16 U.S. states sue Trump administration in showdown over border wall funds

"In terms of "stealing money"  It is estimated that illegals "steal" benefits from the USA totaling $116 billion a year.  Consider, an illegal coming in with multiple children not only qualifies for some forms of welfare but their children typically 3 or more get free grade school, and high school education.  Conservatively that is $12,000 per child per year not including any "special" teachers necessary because the children don't speak English.  That also damages the education to the children of U.S. citizens who do speak English because their education is slowed down by having students who can't keep up do to their language difficulties.  Irrespective, there is no inherent right of any person in the world to enter the USA or any other country just because "they want to".  The Democrats are ignoring their duty to protect the USA both from the effects of unrestricted immigration but also illegal drugs.  90% of the drugs come across the Mexico border and 73,000 people in the USA died from drug overdoses last year.  The cartels are also using the inflow of immigrants to aid their drug distribution.  Flooding the border occupies drug enforcement personnel and while they are tending to the caravans of people the cartels move their drugs in using other border entry points.  Every nation has a right to invite into its country people who it deems it wishes to.  A person breaking into your home is not an "uninvited guest"

I neither know where you got that from nor what is has to do with my post.

Point is that you and every other liberal in this thread is a hypocrite. Hundreds of billions a year wasted on battling illegal immigration, billions and billions more in peripheral support of the same, millions and millions on top of that in medical care and everything else and the left doesn't even bat an eye, but oh dear god the earth is gonna explode if Trump wants a minuscule 5.7 billion to choke it down, which on top of it all is simply what CBP and Homeland requested for border security.

Assuming your claims are true, burning 5.7 billion for a non-problem doesn’t make it any better, nor does justify circumventing the constitution.

On what planet is over 400,000 illegal aliens per year and HUNDREDS of billions of dollars a year thrown at them a "non-problem".

1. The wall won't help with your perceived problem, since they don't come in that way.

2. A quick Google indicated your numbers are way, way over the top, around 50 billion seems more like it.

Trump couldnt get Democrats to back him, because politics. They dont care about the money because they throw hundreds of billions at the problem and never say a peep about it.

And, why do you keep bringing-up Obama or other presidents or Clinton or whoever else is no longer in power?

Because of precedent. You dont get to bypass congress as a democrat then scream bloody murder when a republican does it. You dont get to shield yourself and your party from being a glaring hypocrite by blocking conversation about what your party has done in the past.

As opposed to what, the right's not so thinly veiled desire for the same end? That my friend is politics.

No its not, that blatant election meddling, you know, that thing you guys have been WAILING about for 2 years that hasnt materialized. Those people arent Americans, and your statement is exactly why Trump should do whatever is possible to block the left.

I do not want to live in a walled country; especially when we have the technology to know when and where anyone is about to cross our borders. Gee, if we used our brains we may even be able to devise a better way to stop illegal aliens entering—nah, not with Trump in charge.

So let me ask you this, we use tech to monitor the border. 300 people are approaching. Border patrol cant enter mexico. They have to wait until they enter the US.

What happens after that?

Weird. 521,000 illegal aliens AT THE SOUTHWEST BORDER for FY 2018 and we're already up to 201,000 for FY 2019.

The lowest, most liberal source I could find was 50 billion. The highest was 275 billion. Its widely held that the real number is impossible to know. You want a debate compromise? Meet in the middle and call it 100 billion, every year. Over and over and over again. Yearly.

Thats still a MASSIVE number and Trumps 5.7 is microscopic in comparison.

Hmm, no, he had 2 years of republican congress.

Yeah and he had to overcome Dem filibuster which is 60 votes. Republicans never had 60+ Senate seats. They had a simple majority. You should know this.

I am from San Diego, CA... and you are calling this a non-problem? Where the hell are you from?

Well, we can take in the illegals, and ship all the liberals to North Korea... That works for me.

And all they had to do to overcome the filibuster was throw a bone to the DACA kids. But 45 thought it was better to toss out the 25 billion offered by the Dems for his wall because he wanted more. Now he has put himself in this untenable position with only 1.4 billion for his wall. You should know this.

Winning with the art of the deal.

Imagine if you were NOT from America.  You would be mad nobody talks about you, but then telling your friends you like to be a weak country.  Then you brag about no crime....then a bully attacks you...they you cry to America for help.  America helps you.  Then you troll America on TV.  Jealousy is a B......... people can't travel to America but somehow understand fully how America works.  They bash America and then binge 1000000 hours of American TV or movies.  LOL.

Regarding your assertation that the left withdrew from bipartisan solutions,

Its not an "assertation" its an unequivocal and undeniable fact. The left pulled out, and have been playing politics the entire time. All those government shutdowns, all the games, all the BS - Democrats. And now we have nothing at all, and DACA is still unsolved. And Trump will get a border security package.

Quote

Top Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer on Tuesday pulled back an offer of $25 billion for President Donald Trump's long-promised southern border wall, as lawmakers scrambled to figure out how to push a deal to protect 700,000 or more so-called Dreamer immigrants from deportation.

Schumer had made the offer last Friday in a last-ditch effort to head off a government shutdown, then came scalding criticism from his party's liberal activist base that Democrats had given up too easily in reopening the government without more concrete promises on immigration.

"We're going to have to start on a new basis, and the wall offer's off the table," Schumer, D-N.Y., told reporters Tuesday.

5555555... you naively believe that progressive concerns would have overshadowed this proposal if, as your linked article states, if the GOP wasn’t taking a hard line.

Democrats. Pulled. Out.

Not Trump. Not Pence. Not Republicans. Democrats.

Your party pulled out. You can 55555 all you want but that doesn't change the facts. You guys have driven this issue into the ground all the way up to this point.

Not only have you driven this issue into the ground, but even went so far as to try and reduce ICE detention beds. Democrats have politicized this mess continually as a way to stick it to trump and none of them give a damn about DACA or border security.
