When I looked 5 years ago all I found was very thin and emminently tearable polythene. Eventually I made a concrete pool, not leaking YET. Plenty of Google results I see.

HI.. i have started on the brick work... apparently one layer will crack.... if i put another there do you think it will be OK

Complicated. I did the reinforced concrete base first, built bricks around the edge of that and then lined the whole thing with the stuff they claimed was pond liner. More concrete went on to the base, covering the plastic and going up the walls. I then built a second row of bricks and filled the gap with concrete. 

No, your brick wall is too fragile, and you want to be able to sit on the edge anyway... 

Don't forget a drainage valve somewhere, I did and it makes cleaning difficult.
