Monk Leads Elephants “Khun Saen” & “Saen Thap” to Deliver Supplies to Flood Victims
As the flood situation in Chiang Mai continues to pose challenges, despite the gradual decline in the Ping River’s water level, many families remain in need of food supplies. Certain areas have become inaccessible to larger relief vehicles, making it difficult to deliver essential aid. In a resourceful response, Phra Kru Aod, a monk from Wat Chedi Luang in Chiang Mai, has taken the initiative to use two elephants under his care, “Khun Saen” and “Saen Thap,” to deliver supplies to flood victims in these hard-to-reach areas. The elephants have been able to traverse areas where six-wheel trucks could not, ensuring that much-needed aid reaches stranded residents. A Facebook user, “Sandy Aloha,” shared a reassuring update on the situation, encouraging the public not to worry about the elephants’ safety. The post highlighted that the animals walked down the center of the road, accompanied by their mahouts and a rescue team. The elephants were closely monitored to ensure they did not step on dangerous objects like nails or water pipes. Concerns were quickly allayed as the animals were under constant supervision throughout their journey. This initiative, led by Phra Kru Aod, highlights the unity, compassion, and resilience of the Chiang Mai community as they come together to support those affected by the floods. With creative solutions like these, the community continues to push through the challenges of the ongoing crisis. Picture from Facebook. -- 2024-10-07 -

Am I too late for online 90 day report?
I submit my reports at the earliest possible date. As per @Liquorice post above, if my report is due on the 27th of the month, I submit it on the 13th. I don't depend on the email reminder either. As soon as I get a report approved, I put an entry in my online calendar to remind me a day before the earliest date that I can report online. -

Harris Lies, Americans Die. Illegal Aliens are more Important
Yes, but now we have that pan calling the kettle black.. I have no doubt you would have defended his use of FEMA funds then. Trump took the money. Congress allotted the money this time, not Biden or Harris. -

Visa Run from Chiang Mai to Laos or Malaysia
The fastest option is to fly to bangkok and try to get a late landing around 01, 02 AM or so. Then take a grab to on nut where the visa service vans depart from around 04:30 AM. 10 hour round trip to cambodia and back. No 2 day stays etc. However this costs 4000 baht, but it is almost 100 % you get the visa exempt in your passport. You can also talk to them before you leave to check your status. In Bangkok there are many visa companies doing this, quickest option but not the cheapest.... -
